How long has Rahic been banging on about attacking football. Have we ever played it?

That was straight out of the Mourinho handbook. Grind a 1-0 out. Clean sheet- somehow - despite being flaky at the back. Not much control of the ball, long ball stuff.

We won but it was Crap to watch. Looked like 2 sides who'll be involved much nearer the bottom end than top.

But some fans want PP to come back, as he has winning football.

I guess it’s true. You can’t please all the people all the time.

Are you serious? We lose three games on the bounce, Manager/team getting a load of flack and you expect them to come out and play a load of free-flowing football? Grinding out a win was exactly what was required given the week we’ve just had.

The question is whether it can be built on or not. Time will tell.

Its a win and a clean sheet.

Not pretty and not very easy on the eye but a wins a win.

Need 2 or 3 of those and get some momentum and confidence

That for me is a better team. Mix of experience and youth but the right mix

I thought it was quite an entertaining match, just lost all composure second half. Certainly wasn’t negative though, just high pressed and needed to keep hold of the ball better.

I am serious. We ground out a win against a poor side. Looked like 2 poor sides to me. Very poor quality. In fairness, we progressed from poor to average tonight but there's a huge amount to work on.

But there didn't look to be a huge amount of attacking Intent. Long balls most of the night and lots of backing off when we didn't have the ball.

Get the confidence back then flowing football. I'm flabbergasted that fans heap pressure on the team and players then are surprised when the team plays it safe and goes back to basics

Let's see if it comes. Maybe it'll be built over time.

There was a bit of spirit and energy about us. But I thought there was a bit of fortune about it too. Very little cohesion to our play.

    Did Burton score? No.

    So the backing off worked

    Did we score? Yes.

So what attacking intent we had worked.

    But, please, continue to complain.....

Win on Saturday and we could be in the top 6.
    Now that’s embarrassing

The over reaction from us fans after the Southend defeat was embarrassing?

The loss to Macclesfield fuelled the overreaction of the Southend result.

Exactly from the Jose Mourinho handbook. That wasn't an assured display at either end. A scrappy win is better than what we had in the last 2 games but that way of playing needs to be improved across most areas of the pitch.

Thought the only attacking we did, was through Scannell. Can't see what Wright adds to the team tbh. Akpan did ok cleaning up in midfield. Didn't think it made a difference playing two up front today, as there were no through balls to them. Someone tell McGowan that Doyle likes it to feet, not hoofed up to his head.
Gibson was terrible when he came on. Lost possession each time he received it.

HOWEVER - a clean sheet and three points. Plus much needed confidence for the players and manager(s). ONWARDS!

I say we probably do need to give the side 10
    Games.

I’m not sure Collins is even the manager. I think it’s a 3 man commitee and they run it together. Still don’t think it will work out but they deserve some time. 9th in league

Our back 4 and those 2 in midfield better improve and quickly or we will be smashed most weeks. We're a mid-table team.

Do you think we're that good? Personally, from what I've seen I'd say we're a 'flirting with relegation' team but good enough to stay up.

Nothing up front to suggest we’ll score nearly enough goals.
Doyle played in a relegated side last season and that says it all.

Not really, I think on that showing we'll get spanked most weeks. The back 4 looked and played like they were scared shitless. Mid-field er, we don't have one. And we don't look like scoring... Luck was on our side tonight.

We won't win many based on that performance I'm afraid. Skin off the teeth stuff.
Lots of effort which was pleasing given what I witnessed on Saturday but very little quality or composure.
We spend almost the entire 2nd half hoofing the ball long to Burton's defenders who launched attack after attack. Why we persisted with the long ball I don't know. Our best periods were when we played through Scannell and Payne on the deck.
If I was a Burton fan I would be very frustrated at not getting anything out of the game tonight.
