Agree but the performance was quite flat after the 3rd goal. It was effectively over as a contest at that point. Rochdale was definitely a better performance and atmosphere.

But then I'm happy for us to continue wrapping up games within an hour!

Not true. I was in block E and on about 67 minutes some guy stood up and shouted 'come on city!'

We don't want that kind of raucous behaviour at VP......

Agree about feeling a bit flat. I was in J block in the Kop, plenty of noise from K block but very quiet around me. Felt a bit self conscious if I started singing! At first I just assumed I was comparing it against the Rochdale atmosphere which was immense. But comments above re killing the game off early & the sending off probably ring true. Got to give it to the accy fans though, considering the numbers & circumstances they kept going all game.

Can’t wait now for the trip to Oakwell. If it’s anything like the atmosphere at the dale match it will be a great trip. Fingers crossed for the result & hopefully better behaviour from the “no pyros no party” brigade.

Yes, as was Sunderland in the main. Now Rochdale was a cracking atmosphere

Yes, I also commented on this in the second half. The crowd did seem very subdued for long periods today. Nursing hangovers perhaps?

    Factors affecting today’s atmosphere

    - We knew we’d won after 30 minutes
    - People were hungover/tired from a late night
    - When the away following is low and quiet it often impacts the home atmosphere
    - Many people are back at work tomorrow so a) dreading that and b) many swerved a pre match beer or 3 as they would if it were a Saturday.

Don't worry the bellends will be out in force at Oakwell. It;s prime for a nobhead fest!

Re: The hangover thing - anyone else much more vocal, shouty and generally much more beligerent and aggressive when hungover?

I’d add that the sending off and withdrawal of O’B was a factor. I think we all thought this game was won and with losing O’B the tempo would slow down by quite some margin. A bit of a perfect storm.

Remembered my coffee flask and choc biscuit this time, which I annoyingly left in the car when we played Scunny. Hat, gloves, warm boots, thermals and sheepskin coat all present and correct, so I was snug as a bug in a rug. Just as well, as I was going down with man flu.
I managed a couple of choruses of ' David Hopkin's Bradford Army', but otherwise fairly low key.
    As you were.

I thought it was a typical VP atmosphere, not bad not good. The feel good factor is back though which is the important thing.

Yes I thought it was quiet, remember whispering to my brother halfway through second half about the silence. ...could hear the Stanley fans taking the Mick about it too where we sit in Midland Road.
As mentioned the game was over after the third goal and everything then seemed to go a bit flat
Am sure it will be bouncing at Barnsley though! !
    Enjoy your break lads

Sorry to hear that, it’s been nice knowing you. I’m sure there will be a minutes silence before the Barnsley game, and the players will be wearing black armbands.:dizzy:

The old boy next to me left his gloves at home. Just couldn't get into the game.

It was hardly a pulsating game.. as soon as the red card was given and we scored the 2nd the game was as good as over. Atmosphere is usually much better when either it's a close game or we're losing and pushing for a goal.
