    A BBC survey has named Yorkshire as the county with the best identity. If you are from Yorkshire what gives you the most pleasure.
    The Absolutely fantastic Dales and Coast. Or is it the people and their resilience or perhaps the culture.
    Maybe you don’t agree with this and you don’t identify. What’s everyone’s opinion

    Definitely a proud Yorkshireman. If I ever come into money, I would still live in Yorkshire, somewhere between Harrogate and York has always appealed to me as an ideal place to live if I could afford it!

    There's that old saying that one can always recognise a Yorkshireman...as he'll tell you that within minutes of meeting you; Guilty as charged, M'Lud! And living abroad just makes me even fonder of the place. The OP mentions people, landscape, and culture, and we have much to be proud of in all those areas.

    I've a special liking for York: spend some time walking the walls, then get a pie or something, find a bench with a view of the Minster, and eat whilst contemplating life, the universe, and everything!

    Yes would agree .(slightly)

    As many know , we are Yorkshire through and through and after living down south for 20 + years retirement came along with “affordability”

    We could easily have done the Dales as it’s the best there is, but we would never have “left” our children and their families 250 miles away,!

    We plumped for rural Norfolk as we are still only 2 hours drive away, but we still live today as proud Yorkshire folk and will do so until we die.

    I like Yorkshire,I really do. I'm now an ex pat and can spot a yorkie a mile off. Not hard as they mention their heritage every other sentence.

    I can't stand the professional Yorkshire man bollox. Gets right on my tits.
