Fleetwood owner Andy Pilley jailed for 13 years for fraud. Now fraud may be a serious matter, but you don't always get that long for manslaughter.

Yes. He was convicted in May and sentenced today. He apparently has an existing criminal record, having been convicted previously, albeit a long time ago.
He resigned as Chairman and Director of Fleetwood, I understand this was when he was convicted last month.
However he is still apparently the ‘Owner’ so there may well be some implications for their funding, as he has ‘assisted’ them over the years.

I remember a discussion on here a few years ago about Fleetwood and FGR and how great their owners were at pumping cash in for training grounds etc.
Will be interesting to see if he is/was still bank rolling them and if so if this will end now

Just looked at their last accounts and they owe about £27m to companies owned or controlled by Pilley and there is a comment in the going concerns section that the club needs continued support by the owner to keep going. So they may be in trouble

Wasn't Mr Andy Pilley held up as an example of how to run a football club, M K Don's not in a good way financially, Crawley and FGR both basket cases, maybe Rupp isn't as bad an option as we think.

Is this heading the same way as that Gretna one a few years back when he either stopped funding them or was unable to?
