not sure if they were in for him in the summer, but it would be nice for him to shush their owners in a cauldron of noise. Stick that on Series 3 , lads!!!

 

To think we might have had Mullin if the stars had aligned.

 

I’ve always been a glass half empty person.
I hope I’m massively wrong but I think something Mullin does is going to have a massive influence on this game

Some very good strikers in that list. I thought Marc Richards was an excellent player whenever I saw him play for Port Vale and Northampton.

Players like Pope, Akinfenwa and Ryan Lowe were unplayable at times during their career. We dont seem to have the same quality of strikers nowadays and that goes across all divisions. A decent number 9 is hard to come by. Hopefully a few more to come for Cook.

 

Ash Taylor has made over 450 appearances,how much experience do you want.

 

Forgot about him but he hasn’t had time to forge a partnership and hasn’t had a very auspicious start here has he

 

Akinfenwa wasn’t a good footballer , where did that originate. He was just powerful with a touch of pace , that was it. Remember when he played for Northampton at Wembley. He never got a sniff, and that was in his prime imho. Never rated him at all. I don’t think they had a shot on target and he was on nearly all the second half from memory.

 

Didn't they leave him on the bench for the first half and a fair bit of the second?

 

He wasn’t technically gifted no but he was a goal scorer. Many league 2 players weren’t technically good. Tom Pope in an example too but again he had a very decent record as did Ellison.
Andy Cook isn’t the most gifted footballer in the world but he scores goals.

 

Most he’s ever scored in a season is 18 in 2012, not to be sniffed at but not really all that prolific generally.

 

He was benched at Wembley! I couldn’t believe it. He frightened the life out of me

 

I just looked they brought him on after 50 mins.

 

And he had zero impact when he did come on.

 

Andrew Davies had full control of him that game if I remember correctly.

 

Totally agree when the teams went up and we saw Adie prefered Platt we knew although Platt was a big unit Akinfenwa with his physical presence could cause problems although both Rory & Andrew could both look after themselves.

 

And who was one of the back 4 who were dominated for the entire 90 minutes by our forwards?
