Well people complain how poor and 2 of them couldn't get ahead of them struggled for game time and the other was just shi@e.

 

All the squad suffered and were damaged under the previous managers.

 

Wasn't Colville supposedly highly thought of at Huddersfield until he got released as not being Premiership quality? Seem to remember reading he had won awards as a young player with potential, or was that just O'Brien?

 

Strange one Joe Riley. As you say, highly thought of at Man Utd, and Sheff Utd, after a brief spell there.

Signs for us and looked poor. Soon out of the picture altogether, forced to train with the youngsters under Hopkin, along with Wright, I believe.

Bowyer comes in saying everyone has a clean slate, wright gets his chance, but still Riley nowhere to be seen. Surely he isnt that bad?

 

Anderson's been on holiday since the day he arrived at VP.

 

Dunno - However something isn't right. Perhaps he has a 'Flash car', and talks Billy big balls (Tells team mates how everything was so much better at Man U ) ?

 

Oh maybe Hopkin couldn't coach him, didn't rate him or motive him and then got hacked off with having to reduce the wage bill so totally went about it the wrong way.

By the time Bowyer came in P'O'Connor was here who he knew and Mellor was fitter.

However, unlike Wright who Bowyer came out and praised it did seem Bowyer was having a pot shot at him for his lack of effort.

Shame he isn't fit to lace the boots of a former Liverpool reserves captain we signed. Maybe, he should of talked to Darby to understand what it takes to make it at Bradford City having been a big club for so long. Would of helped him.

not sure it is. in the three pages of this thread i've managed to count 8 posts that describe him as 'decent' or talking about how he 'looked very good' at the start of last season.
neither of those statements are true. he didn't look particularly decent, nevermind very good.
he was just sort of there.

 

It seems that some don't have an option hence one of the reasons the club is where it is.

2.6m budget and 3 contract offers to players that won't make the grade and sign a prospect.

Ok let's keep eating into that budget with players that won't make a difference. That makes sense.

 

The rumour I heard was that Hopkin didn’t Like his work ethic and Riley thought he was bigger than the club. More than once Riley cried off training with “illness” which angered Hopkin and when a player boasts about his salary, flash car and which bird he’s currently seeing when the team are losing every week it is likely to get a managers back up as well as other, more senior players ....can’t comment about Bowyers attitude to Riley as I don’t know...BUT, he seems to have adopted the same attitude as Hopkin towards him.

 

No, I believe the squad last season is better than they performed. Collins and Hopkin were awful managers.

I see no point in offering contracts to all Devine, Anderson and Colville maybe 1 or 2 but not all 3.

Next we will be offering Patrick another 3 years.

And all 3 were part of that squad!! All 3 are different players to each other.

If we offer him anymore years then that's when I start to panic. But that won't happen.

 

Big clubs don't scout people if they have no talent Fordy. Might be wrong but the lads not played a senior game of football below league one......

Look, it's early days in the transfer market but we can't complain about the squad last season then praise those that couldn't get in it.

We'd to chance to free up the wage bill and then offer contracts to the likes of Danny Devine who is horse sh@te. Madness!
