I am not sure what fans were expecting last night. They were not going to come out and proclaim we are totally wrong in everything we have done but dont worry we have half a dozen top class players signing this window and we will smash promotion.
This squad of players are good enough to achieve promotion, for what ever reason they are under achieving individually and collectively and completely lack any fight if things start to go against them. They need to take a good hard look at themselves . If i was a manager at another club, i would not look at any one of them as potential signings.

I cant tell if it's Adams saying that he OK'd the signing of all those players, or he's saying something along the lines of 'I'm the manager, it's my job to take responsibility in the players i've brought here'. Not a chance with all those ex Scunthorpe links, after the times they've had in the last few years that Adams had some of them players at the top of his list... surely?

I remember his interview after the PJT game when we signed Robinson, Adams said something similar to "he's not the striker i'd have signed"..... is it another DA contradiction? Or is he just trying to put a line under Turnbull and just take it all on himself?

Paudie is a bang average league 2 defender. Cooke and Watt, again its alright saying they should play higher but you are talking about individuals. Of which make up a squad. Those individuals you mention and others aren't necessarily as bad as they currently look, put them in a better squad and they might play better. But as it currently stands it's the squad that desont have the quality and balance of individuals to get us promoted. Hence talk of at least 4 or 5 players needed.

I'm gonna be honest I dont buy into this 100% thing that comes around when the team isnt playing well. The success of the team that got promotion under Parky wasn't down to 100%ers and running around a lot, it was down to a manager having a set plan/strategy and recruiting players to fit that strategy. Running around a lot and busting a gut helps but it's nowhere near the primary reason a team is successful. And all it would take in relative terms to have this team of apparent 'shirkers' giving that '100%' is a midfielder in the mould of Jones and Nahki Wells up front. Becuase without those two I'm pretty sure the fans would be using this very catchphrase of 100%ers toward Parkys team.

Parky and his players had a lot of backing banked due to their success. None of the teams or managers since have earned that backing.

Exactly, wouldn't it go down well if he said before a certain date those were not players signed by me that would be a great team bonding comment.
He said what most fair minded fans though he would say, they are all me signings, imagine the stick he'd get on here trying to hide behind the " I didn't sign him or him".

Well in all my years I was astounded that DA felt that modern day footballers were not inclined to "run through a brick wall". Most athletes and sports people have to shed blood and guts to be the best they can be and in football on match days fans expects a minimum, that they give all in the cause until they drop. So, in my world, that old adage re brick walls is still relevant.

I believe we do have some gifted players in the squad but the ‘loser mentality’ that DA said the club has over the past few years is the issue. How many times have we seen City go a goal down and the body language of the players on the pitch is clear that they accept it & give up. That’s where we need leaders, but if they don’t exist any more as DA told us last night, then the club needs to bring in a consultant to improve the players mindsets. I believe Parky did this on and off during his time at the club.

I think we can all dismiss point no. 4 on the New Signing Handbook of Quotes to be given to the T&A. “I can’t wait to play in front of this huge crowd at Valley Parade and give my all for the fans”. Fact is the majority of players can’t cope with playing in front of 15,000 fans at City week in week out.

It was all about team spirit and togetherness with Parky’s team and the right balance get that right and the odd player going through a bad patch can be carried

Funny you should say that because they had a debate on Talksport yesterday about Rashford playing like he "didn't want to run" for balls. Footballers these days just haven't got what they used to have.

Can you imagine footballers of the 70's and 80's doing anything but busting a gut, irrespective of the quality (or lack of) that have.

Agree. I posted a few days ago that he’s a one trick pony. He’s trying to use the same tactics that got him success with other players. Sadly, our players aren’t good enough!

Good point. Andrew Davies or Rory McArdle would have cut him in two in the second half

Same old Fordy, abusive insults about Sparks/Adams/Rupp but you don't back it up and confront them when the opportunity arises.

Seriously? Take the blinkers off for a sec and ask yourself.. Devon and top half League One football or Bradford and bottom half League Two football.

Look we are not the ‘cheapest’. “League Two side Oldham Athletic are next cheapest at £160. They are followed by third tier Fleetwood Town at £170. Another League Two side, Rochdale, also come in low on the list with a season ticket priced at £175”. Also Salford City ‘Standard: £250 (£180 for renewals), Concession: £150 (£100 for renewals).

To put it quite bluntly I would rather have affordable prices, than some of the ridiculous one, which in effect force out the ordinary supporter.

It doesn’t really matter what the price is, that effects the budget (which we are told is both sustainable and one of the largest in the division). If it means more people have a stake then that is a good thing.

Given the choice between 7/8000 or 14/15000 l know which I would rather have.
