    Horrific scenes. Ref punched by club president and then further injured whilst on the ground.

    It's a huge issue in football with the lack of respect for referee. There seems to be more and more incidents of sunday league referees being attacked and something needs to be done about it. We saw last season Mitrovic pushed a referee and we are seeing more players grab referees and if it carries on it's only a matter of time before a referee reacts. Football needs to get out of the mentality of using referees as scapegoats and remember they are humans and without referees we don't have a game.
