    Hi. Can someone tell me what’s happened to Alex Jones. Summer getting fit in Dubai. Pre season hopes of new player back in the squad. Then nothing. No mention of him anywhere. Saw him after the game yesterday when exiting the kop in his city tracksuit.
    What’s his injury and timeline to see him back as he offers something different to what we have.

    I’m completely fed up at the lack of information we get about Jones and Reeves, I’m almost sure I heard they were both nearly ready to make a comeback a couple of months ago.

    That combined with recalling Omari and McCartan from their loan spells in January and expecting Rupp to put his hands into his pocket to provide a shed load of euros to completely overhaul the squad in January. That's wishful thinking on every count!

    Rupp doesn't have to do anything at all. He might instead be willing to accept a loss on his original investment. Despite what some believe, he hasn't put any money into the club itself so far. And if I were him, having now had first hand experience over two years of how the finances operate in our division, I'd be thinking more in terms of 'not throwing good money after bad' and instead expecting the current manager to do what he was recruited to do.

    He might not have put any money into the club yet but he has put money in by purchasing the club, so he does have a few million tied up in the club.

    Alex Jones is the single most obvious example of a player IN YEARS who is destined for a career in the National League.

    Not only is he injury prone, he's also poor, but feeds off bad defending that cracks under pressure.

    Since our current side exerts almost zero pressure on opposition teams and defences, he will be yet another forward starved of any service, while being less talented than Doyle and Ball and Miller, none of whom look any great shakes.

    Jones will be out on loan come January, and released in the summer unless someone offers like 10k or something.

    Saviour?

    Yeah don't think so.

    Cue pointless goals-to-minutes stats derived from appearances when we were actually decent - which is not now the case.

    Says a lot when I’d happily have McCartan back asap! He would walk into our first team right now.

    That being said, with Lincoln top of the league and in form, I doubt he’d be too thrilled to come back..
