Possibly training with us, another experienced player to come aboard perhaps? If Wiki is to be believed, he 27 years old, ex Leeds and Barnsley full back, rapid by all accounts...

    Sounds good to me.

Hopkin said he wanted deals done BEFORE January, maybe we'll stock up prior to the window and that opening can mean shifting a few out, rather than in.

    Local lad, born in Otley

Championed as a possible future England star back in 2008, but I believe he suffered quite a few injuries at Leeds, that hampered his career there.

I seem to remember City been linked to him a few years ago?

Can play left back or left wing

A Barnsley fan I work with says he was a very good player but had trouble with injuries. Says he continued training with Barnsley after they released him so might have kept himself reasonably fit

If he can stay fit he will be decent. Better than Chicksen for sure. And would be able to play the left wing back role with Caddis the other side if we go 3 at the back which I think Hopkin wants to do that

I've found some nice comments from Barnsley Fans Forum about White:

"Yeah he's not worth the risk with his injury record. If he could play 40 plus games a season, he would be a starter for a top half championship club."

"Agreed. He's more pace than any of our current full backs. He would run down the side, pass to Hammill, overlap waiting for the return pass, then whip a ball in to the box. Our current full backs aren't yet up for doing that."

"Gutted for him that he’s so injury prone. Nice lad who deserves better luck. Whether it’s with us or someone else I hope he gets back to full fitness."

"No one in League One could cope with his partnership with Hammill down that left wing"

"Yeah think the club have been letting him train here, which is a really nice gesture. Was always excellent for us but sadly injuries have brought is Career to a halt"

Sounds like an exciting prospect if we can keep him injury free.

Like everybody else sounds the kind of player who would add much needed width, but he is injury prone. Maybe our new coach can do something with him?

Sounds like he has been without a club for a while - maybe he would accept a short term or week to week contract for now

The amount of football he's played in recent years is concerning but it sounds like he has decent pedigree.

Best keep Chicksen if White is that injury prone.

    Fast, overlapping runs....

If he can perform like Mezza, perfect!

Hopefully the new fitness coach can earn his corn, here. Many 'injury prone' players are such because of poor personal management.
Darren Anderton (Former Spurs) a case in point. I think it was a book penned by Terry Venables, where he stated many of Andertons problems were 'self inflicted' owing to poor mental issues on his fitness. Had he listened to advice and taken it on board 100%, Darren would not have had the sick note 'tag'. He hastened to add that all top athletes push themselves, and it's a case of finding that balance where it works best. (Are you listening, Jake Reeves and Alex Jones ?? ;) )

But still ........... Let's see where this goes (If true), before we all pass judgement. :)

Not sure about this one. Yes seems to be an upgrade but we've enough long term sickies top make a hospital 11. Being good on the sick bed won't get us our of this mess.

Well, we need some width in one way or another. Far too narrow at the moment.

I clicked like due to the fact Beags is up there as one of my all time fav City players.

Yes, he'd been out injured long term, however it wasn't a succession of minor injuries he'd had, he wasn't in and out of the Physio's room. Was it Frank Clarke that let us have him for 50k saying at the time, because he's been out that long his legs would be strong in his later career hahaha he wasn't wrong.
