I met aiden Davison earlier this Month at the Pune City v Mumbai City game in in ISL in India.
He is doing rather well for himself out here as goalkeeper coach/first team coach along with the forever tanned Phil brown ex Hull, Southend manager

I lived in Pune for a couple of years a while back. Loved it there.

As far as I know they have in preparation for the next season.
Pune city have a few lads who actually played for a little while in England like Ian Hume and matt Mills who look a class apart from anyone else on the pitch

Is football starting to taking off in India? When I was last there, which is 12 years ago, it was still all about the cricket.

It does have a small breed of supporters who I must say are very passionate about their team although I must admit I taught them a few more English worded songs that they previously didn't know lol

Still is but I think in the southern states which have a slightly more European feel it’s popular. Cricket is a religion

I suppose cricket is a little easier to play when the thermometer is touching 40 degrees.

Haha god yeah but it wasn't exactly freezing the evening I went to the game.
Never have I felt more welcome at a game than in the Indian super league, although it could have something to do with the fact we were the only western face in the crowd

Cricket is not an overly athletic sport at an amateur level. As a country India have an awful record in the olympics. may be this is linked to the fact football is not overly popular?
