Is this the worst League 2 you can remember?

Only Orient, under Wellens, are a decent side from what I’ve seen.

Carlisle are dross, yet fourth and pushing a bang-average Northampton side for the last auto spot and we are shot shy and very limited, yet sit in seventh.

If we don’t go up this year from such a dreadful division we’ve squandered a fantastic opportunity.

Lewis won’t be in League 2 next year, nor will Crichlow. We’ve already lost Wright. No guarantee we’ll have Cook at all, let alone amongst the league’s top scorers, next year.

Do you think our players ever look at the table like fans do and think, ‘hang on a minute?’.

We’re in a division of filth. Sort it out lads.

Not sure how you can base a real view on a side after seeing them once or twice. Just because a team had a bad day against us doesn't mean they are a bad side.

league 2 this season is no worse than any year we have been in it.
Its just that we are not as good as we all hoped we would be under Hughes.

You regularly watch Northampton or other league two sides?

    Strange if it's true.

We’re dross as well. I’ve not seen us pull a team apart or put in a decent 90 minute performance in any game this season.

My Dad (no longer follows City) asked me earlier if I thought we had a chance of promotion. I’m afraid to say it was a no.

Yeah I know but given league two generally kicks off all together (barring a few midweek games) I'd assume you'd be watching City.

Also, is there really any interest of watching Carlisle versus Salford just because we're in the same division? Not for me but each to their own I suppose.

But why if (in your own words), it's 'a division of dross' are you wasting your time watching it?

Lovely of you to call us (Carlisle) 'dross' after we beat you!!
Anyway not going to get into a slagging match, however its kind of 'what happens on the day'. If you had seen us play away at Salford where we absolutely murdered them (4-1 to the mighty Blues) then you would have obviously said different, if you had seen us at Harrogate, then maybe 'dross' would have been appropriate, despite the fact we somehow got a point. I think the reason we are both in this division is 'inconsistency', both Carlisle and Bradford have decent players and can sometimes come up with the goods and look really decent sides, but sometimes...............The Dog and Duck reserves would give us both a game.
Anyway onwards and upwards, looking forward to the 21st of March.

Northampton looked like a very good side so did Stockport at VP the truth is quality is at a premium at this level but it’s certainly no worse than usual

I too thought Northampton looked decent but not so good now, they were just a team playing with confidence due to being on a good run. Borderlescott is right to a certain extent. There aren't really any standout teams. Neil Woods claimed that his team Salford totally outplayed us when actually all they did was aim for 6'5" Matt Smith every time they got the ball. At Stockport the other night we up against team on a very good run and yes they won 11 corners but only had 2 attempts on target and a lot of their play was very route one.
The good thing is we are very much still in the mix. We certainly now have the players that can make a difference if we can get our tactics right which I think MH is working on. Adam Clayton is only on contract until the end of the season but looks like he will add a bit of steel to our midfield. Matty Derbyshire looks a lively and smart addition to our attack and with Harry Chapman fit and Jamie Walker available we will have very good options, better than a lot of the other sides up there with us. Also if we go with 3 up top in some games it would be interesting to see Andy Cook playing in that formation rather than on his own.

Yes, very true. Lack of consistency is probably a fairer way of putting it!

yeah, that’s the key bit you mention. For all our issues (and we are dross) we are remarkably still in contention!

Now the very smart answer is…….come down and watch a game!

If not, will he always take your advice, on absolutely everything?

He needs to make his own mind up, rather than delegating it to you.

    Take responsibility himself.;)

I'll stick up for you @borderlescott@borderlescott (lord knows I backed you enough times in the past).

I'm with you in that it does feel like a poorer division this time around, the congestion in and around the play offs seems to make that point. Apart from the top two the rest are very much, much of a muchness as they say, with a lot depending on which side turns up on the day or gets a refereeing break.

I also understand the (madness) or reasoning for watching league two, I've done it myself when one has been available when city have been without a game on one of the many recent Saturdays or even when teams are playing catch up midweek, there is always a league two game to watch.

For me it's more relevant, I watch premier League footy yes but only with a passing interest. I'd probably take a big game over league two, but if a Tuesday night arose with palace v Everton on one side or Northampton v barrow on the other, I'm taking the cobblers game every time.

Don't have a dislike for the premier League, but it's definitely league two for me, even more so when I have a dog in that particular race

I think this division is full of largely well-run, competent (small) clubs that have been out-competing much larger sides like Stockport, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Notts County, Southend, Oldham and Scunthorpe.

When we claim they're all crap, but we just sound like a bunch of beat dogs yelping at an empty dinner bowl.

Likewise the other way round. Rochdale looked half decent against us but are intact absolutely awful.
