9 years ago today

Time flies, nearly 10 years already feels like last season at times. We won’t see that again but we’d all settle for a promotion and a team that actually looked like a team again.

 

I wasn’t brought up to be a liar, last thing these last 4 years have been unfortunately is enjoyable!

 

It certainly was, never felt the cold either Dave.

 

Felt so proud of the team getting there but didn’t like the way Parky set up on the day, without Hines’ pace as an outlet when we weren’t on the back foot, and we were annihilated!

Once the keeper was sent off it was a dead rubber.

I know our fans waved their flags but I expected us to put up more of a fight that day. We embarrassed ourselves in the final but what a run it was to get there. Can’t see any other L2 side doing it again.

Remember going to York away soon after the Swansea game and then seeing us use the disappointment to kick us on.

As playoff finals go, it went so so smoothly didn’t it, so maybe the earlier Cup experience helped.

Like most, loved the history makers and Parky. Those were golden years, giant killing.

 

Then again giving us IMO one of the biggest FA Cup upsets ever (the biggest according to Robbie Fowler) beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge playing some delightful football.


Not specifically Capital One Cup related but Chelsea FA Cup related.....my youngest was absolutely made up last Saturday when we were in the hospitality suites. We'd been talking about the Chelsea game as FA Cup games were coming up, and he remembered saying at half time at Stamford Bridge about going because at least we'd scored at Stamford Bridge, to then come away with a fantastic victory!!

At the end of the Mansfield game he had his photo taken and spoke for a good few minutes with Felipe Morais about the Chelsea game!!! Absolutely loved it, saying I saw him score at Chelsea and now I've got a photo with him and spoke to him about the game!!! Sure that story will continue down the family line....

 

9 years since we had a team we could truly be proud of. I hope hughes puts this right and gives us something like that again. Dont know if he will or not at all but it would be great if he did. Getting sick of bradford city being another depressing part of my life when life is difficult enough for people at the moment
