Random q but does anyone know if I need a ticket for my three year old, the Mrs wants me to take him - but it's all season ticket holders round us so hoping he can just sit on my knee?

    Club policy on young kids:
Infants and Babes in Arms policy
The Club considers that the noise, crowds and atmosphere makes it inappropriate for very young infants and babes in arms to be brought to matches. However, the Club also respects the rights of a parent to make a decision about the well-being of their child and as a result will not stop a parent bringing an infant or babe in arms to home games if they choose to do so.

It is acknowledged that the responsibility for the infant or baby’s welfare, comfort and safety lies entirely with the parent at all times during the match, pre and post match activities and at all times while on the footprint of the Northern Commercials Stadium or any facilities on the periphery of the stadium whether or not that area is controlled by the football club.

Where parents wish to bring an infant or baby to a match at the Northern Commercials Stadium, a ticket for that infant or baby must be purchased. Such ticket will be charged at the concessionary junior ticket rate.

Specifically, parents must be aware there are risks to consider including, for example, the danger associated with a ball travelling at speed into the crowd, the impact of crowd noise on your baby and the potential for adverse weather. Therefore, the Club would recommend that infants and babies are not taken into sections of the stadium that are directly behind the goal in the North Stand Kop or South Stand or in the lower section of the West Stand.

Within the West Stand, access to banqueting rooms may be allowed with one parent if the child becomes factitious or unsettled by the behaviour of the crowd or the noise while the match takes place. The Club has only limited baby-changing facilities available within the stadium. The Club is unable to offer any storage facilities for prams or buggies.

Bradford City Football Club confirms that admittance of an infant or baby to a match is entirely at the discretion of the parents who make an informed decision in this regard following the outlining of the risk factors to them. We accept no liability in the event of a child being harmed in any way by one of the risk factors listed above or any other incident in the stadium.

"Babes in arms"? Is that an actual phrase, or have they just dug up this ruling quotation from Victorian times?

Think these days it's more "bae's up in arms", rather than babes in them.

The only other suggestion I can make, is to check if the club will allow you to transfer to another area of the ground? Perhaps where there is more space and which may not be as ‘intense’ for a three year old. My then five year old and I sat in the Midland Road for a couple of seasons.
I would e.mail Mick Lamb at the Ticket Office to see if he can help/advise

My little lad turned 4 in August but has been going to a few games every season since he first went just prior to his second birthday (3-1 win vs Coventry). He’s up to 17 games now including the play off final vs Millwall and Bury away last season. Poor lad hasn’t seen us score for the past 4 home games he’s been to (Bristol Rov, Charlton and Barnsley this season and Southend towards the end of last season).

    He’s a good travelling companion

Surely H&S overules any such thoughts ?
At home is fine ......... But in a packed stadium ?

Have a good think about all this ........... moreover ........... Any consequences................

Have a think - Do you love your child, and can guarantee total protection ?

I have 2 sons, now aged 19 and 11. Both started going when they were 3 or thereabouts. They were curious when I talked about football and wanted to see it. It was hard work, with toilets, boredom, crowd noise, lack of entertainment etc...

But they are now proper Bantams and have had season tickets for years and love away games. Eldest coming from Manchester Uni for Sunderland, and we all have tickets for Accy!!

Far to young to be taking a kid to a football match.

Bigger question is why does your Mrs want you and your son out of the home? Do you get milk delivered on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm?

Depends if it's a human or a horse. If it's a horse then youd probably be better off taking it to wetherby for a trot round the track.

Forget the ticket, give him some boots and a kit and get him on the pitch. He'd have the same amount of idea of what he should be doing as those on the pitch currently...

Well we went - he got confused about why daddy and him weren't playing (I was as well tbh) crowd were a bit loud but he enjoyed it - bag of sweets, questions about "who's that chicken on the pitch" managed 60 minutes before he wanted to go - I'll be honest he last about 15 minutes longer than me! :) great first effort though!
