I already play on multiple channels. I don't need you to arrange it for me, it's as simile as signing up.

    Cheers though.

Let me just jump in here. I’m a 25 yearer, paid £2250 up front on CC. Got 1 full season out of it then received a £1700 refund from bank.
The deal I entered into would have equated to a season ticket for £90 per season so I think the discount we get is fair. We put our money up front where many thousands of others chose not to.

    Exactly.

This is what some people are struggling to understand. Those who got some of the money refunded by their credit card company have still lost out, although not by as much as those who weren't protected by section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

So for £550 you got one year season ticket which back then was £250-£300. So that leaves £250-£300 that has given you 20 years of discount/free season ticket

Not sure how they have lost out. They may not have got the deal they originally signed up for but they are not financially out of pocket

Wasbt the original deal honoured until the second CVA in 2004? So that would have been 2 or 3 years season tickets?

Not sure how anyone has lost out. Dont 25 yearers pay for a suite upgrade £100 and get the season ticket for free.
At least they can get a warm up on those bloody freezing tuesday nights.
Whatever the personal circumstances , its time for fans to draw a line under this and move on.
New season , new belief , lets all get behind the players and help get the club out of the shitpool that is league 2 and no disrespect is meant to the other clubs in the division, just league 2 itself.

But the point is I didn’t want my money back, I wanted the deal I signed up for.
If id invested that £2250 in Amazon back in 2002 I’d have shares worth half a million quid.
Is it fine for them to just give me my money back and me to accept and feel ok about it????
So all this talk from bitter fans that we’ve had our money back and should now just draw a line under it is bullshit

Just so I've got it straight in my head. You paid the money via CC, then when they refunded you under section 75 they gave you the money back minus cost of the season tickets you had had? So you were no worse off than if you had bought the season tickets each year? Then you have had the Rhodes deal since?

I get that we didn't get the deal we paid for. I think the point being made was that those who got the refund from their CC have had it good both ways. They got their money back and have still had the extras off the club, which the club offered due to people losing out on the £2500 paid.

    No.
The £100 suite upgrade + 'free ST' only happened for a couple of seasons. The last few years we have had a 'discounted' ST and 'free' use of a suite. We've been paying £120 for the last few seasons. But I've already paid £100 per season in my original 25 Year lump sum (paid by cheque so no credit card refund) so I've effectively paid £220 per season for the last few years.
The suite upgrade is worthless to me. I don't even bother claiming it. I sit in C Block, Main Stand. I've no interest in sitting in a soulless aircraft hanger with shit beer pre match, when I can be in a pub with mates and decent beer. It takes so long to get up and down from C Block to the upper tier suites at half time that it's not worth the bother, even if it were a nice place to spend HT, which it isn't.

The motivation for me buying one in the first place was my belief that 20 years later the cost of a season ticket might be double what it was in 2002 not half the cost.
For the benefit of younger members of this forum, the cost of a ST back in 2002 was over £300.

    Yes, exactly.
Those of us that didn't get a refund have ended up paying more than if we'd bought season on season in the normal way.

Not sure of all the dynamics. I didn’t have the spare cash in 2002, so didn’t seek to buy. However if I pay £180 a season (and I guess as an average it would be around that figure), then a simple £180 X 25 (equivalent of up to 2027) would mean I would pay £4,500. So on that basis a 25 year ticket has been exceptionally good value!

Except those that bought a 25 year have ended up paying more.
