2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

Yep! This now looks like three very good signings on the trot - Walker, Kavanagh and now Sarcevic.

But of course Walker was Doyle's signing. Kav doesn't count because apparently singings from Middlesbrough are not allowed and no doubt Sarcevic was down to Sharpe. LOL!!

 

Hard to say how responsible Gent is for some signings (but naturally blamed for anything shite) but since he came in.....

Decent to passable

GK - Walker, Lewis
DF - Halliday, Oyegoke, Richards, Platt, Stubbs, Crichlow, Kelly, Tomkinson
MF - Smallwood, Pattison, Walker, Wright, Banks, Oduor
ST - Kavanagh, Young, Smith

Obviously subjective but dont think anybody above is a 'disaster' by any stretch. Some barely passable at best mind....

Yeh weve had some shite short term loans and some didn't work out or were absolute dross but I think the good has outweighed the bad in all honesty. Hughes was a problem....

 

Clearly you saw the point I was making from the get go. City fans can’t agree who are decent players in OUR squad in L2 , let alone who would be capable of playing in a division above . Neither do any Stockport fans for exactly the same reason . @Petrov made a good point that the club were only willing to take a “ punt” for only a year because that tells me the CLUB dont know either. Hope that helps indicate my thought processes from an empty room?

 

Sarcevic might be more Alexander with having him as vice captain at Fleetwood

 

If you read the previous posts, we were discussing percentages. Good signings compared to mediocre/shite signings. And the shite far outweigh the good

 

Absolutely it was. No mistaking it. And GA as well. Sarcevic even said in his interview it was sharpe and GA who got on the phone to him and sold him the club. Deal with it

 

Identify signings and making signings are different things. Gent hasnt made a single signing - he doesnt have anything to do with contracts.

For all we know he could have thrown some great names forward but for whatever reason the club couldnt get it over the line.

Kudos to Sharpe but hammering Gent for all the shite previous seems a tad harsh.

He is just a scout. The manager and Sparks have the final say.

Sorry you are wrong again. When you consider in most cases he had little money to work with. The problem has been the utilisation of the players we have signed. Of course there have been some disasters as at most clubs but outweighed by some good finds as we will find out with the current crop next season

Is this another sign of the Rupp promised investment ? He will NOT have come cheap and I’d bet he gets a “golden hello” as well as the two year deal on probably the same L1 money County offered him?

 

Let’s face it though Cook is hit and miss , going for a pea roller in the middle of the goal is not his smartest of pen attempts. The manager gets the final say at the end of the day. So as they say Cookie can like it or…….
