no, not *****'s appendage but the official distance the ball was from crossing the line in the Man City v Liverpool game tonight.
Watching it, from all camera angles I would not have been surprised if the goal had been given.
The technology needs to be implemented throughout the EFL and Harvey needs to sign off on paying for it.
Also worth noting all the players just got on with it. Seems everyone believes this technology to be pretty much the dogs.

They don't even need to force it on clubs at EFL level as it can be fairly expensive as some stadiums will need some work done on them to make them suitable. They just need to start saying that if you have the ability (as the likes of Sunderland do) then it has to be used. When clubs realise the benefit of GLT those who can afford it will quickly jump on board and while it may take a while for everyone to have it its something clubs where finances are tight and implementation costs are higher can start working towards it

I honestly feel this is something that the EFL should be funding, for the integrity of the game. Bollocks to jaunts to Thailand for Harvey and his cronies. Get this funded.

They couldn't afford it though. Its not a system that you can buy and implement anywhere, it has certain stadium requirements to work which as you go down the league's many clubs simply won't meet the requirements. To force it on them it would require the EFL to fund massive building projects to get the stadiums upto the required level

And that's in PL stadiums all of which required very little work on the stadium to make them suitable. At League One or League Two level you could see it costing millions

So the better off clubs get the best technology and the better refereeeing decisions as a result?

Not for me. Best way is for EFL to either fund it or come up with a plan to fund it

It's not like its guaranteed to work in their favour though, it can stop goals they would have been awarded otherwise for them as well as goals against them.

And the thing is its £250k per club to put in in place IF their stadiums meet the requirements. Otherwise you could be looking at millions. The league can't afford to fund that and many clubs can't afford it at that level. It is something that is only ever going to be viable if its introduced bit by bit as clubs can afford the stadium and the implementation cost (it also apparently costs about £3k a game to operate)

Bit by bit surely makes sense and is doable. The Championship is certainly ready in terms of finance and infrastructure for it to be implemented soon and then it could be phased into L1 & L2. We could even go down the American route of sponsorship for all things and raise funds that way (Specsavers anyone..?).

They have to give refs as much chance as they can. The reaction of our players and manager were fairly muted to what they could have been at Sunderland (despite Hopkin's yellow) but compare that to the acceptance of the decision last night and its night and day.
