Funnily enough ............
In the late eighties A Kirby salesman thought I would be stupid enough to part with just over £700 for a bloody vacuum cleaner, ha, ha, ha !! My 'dumb' neighbour actually signed up for one, ha, ha, ha, lol, ha ha !!

But guess what ?
Yeah .......
Since then I have had about 7 or 8 different cleaners, at a cost of say close to £2k !!

I 'bumped' into my former neighbour about Easter, this year ........... Yep, still has his Kirby, and has only had to change the belt, now and again !!

 

Chickson isn't as bad as people are making out. He's basically on his own on the left as we have no left wingers and even if we do play 442, the 'left sided' player is Payne who drifts inside. Last week there was 2-3 Fleetwood players on his side most of the game. He didn't stand a chance. When he got the ball there was no one showing down the wing (as we don't have anyone there) so he has to either bang it long, pass it back to our CB or trying find a pass to our non existent central midfielders.

I think it just shows how great Meridith was as a player. Even if his crosses weren't great, he was like 2 players at times.

 

The glaring weakness is Chicksen. Elsewhere, there are enough players with historic decent pedigrees to be doing better. I predict we'll see that a no-nonsense manager will make a big difference

 

I predict our no-nonsense manager will still play Chicksen , as did the 3 previous managers

 

Probably our weakest area of the pitch. Chicken isn't great which makes you wonder how far behind Wood must actually be. Last resort is playing a left footed centre half there.

 

Again it will be interesting to see how Hopkin addresses it

 

You're correct as easy as it would be to put all the blame on Collins it would not be fair, Robert Lossau was brought back but it was only intended as a stop-gap move as he still lives in South Korea and Robert left a couple of games into the campaign, and when he left we had no fitness coach I believe until Ben Nicholson was appointed recently.
Very professional no fitness coach at the very time you need to get your players up and running.

 

It could be all to do with fitness that Hopkins is having them do double sessions, it might also be "I'm the governor now and until you do what I expect we will continue with double sessions" sort of stamping his mark on the squad.

 

Agree looking at this season's performances so far most need a rocket up there a***s

 

I bet he is drilling them,tactics, defending,shooting tackling and contact and lots of pep talks. I think he will sort the shower of bab out? The good thing is if he gets us going in the next 6-10 games and we don't go down that will seem like success. If we can get some form going who knows? He deffo knows the game.

Hopkin was always a firey midfielder so any slackers Im sure he will be there with his "mill band" to light the blue touch paper.
For you young uns amongst us "mill band" was rope that was soaked in lanolin, on bonfire night you lite it and it stayed smoldering all night so you didnt need to carry matches.
