Not sure about bringing his own staff.Looks like they have stayed on with Holt at Livingston not very impressive bunch.I am sure Hoppy will have plenty of contacts though or see how it goes with what we have.

Is Leon Osman still out of contract?

 

I think there's a good player in akpan. To me he just looks so short of confidence. Now that could either be from the current situation at the club, or, he's played in struggling teams in recent seasons and it might take some time to get his confidence back.

 

Why oh why could this appointment not have been made in June.

Anyway, as the old saying goes, better late than never.

 

Anyone know Hopkins preferred formation at Livingston, was he a 4-4-2 man for example. I've read somewhere he favours a pressing in your face type of play, which I would welcome, thing is have we got the players at the club to suit that If so. Perhaps he will adapt a style around the type of players we have.

Yep, quite a few "losers" in this team & making one the captain was bizarre.

I'd take a hungry team finishing outside of the bottom 4 right now, push on from there.

Totally agree. It feels like we have wasted 3 months including the key pre season preparation.

Why? If it's played correctly with players in their proper positions then it's one of the best systems in the game.

 

So looks like this was the preffered choice all along? Gut feel is there is a good tesm in terms of players but fitness tactics and motivation missing. Hioe that starts to turn around now but patience needed. Also any chance we can get Killa to reverse his decision to move?

Indeed. But more than that, the speed at which the appointment has been made almost certainly means that it was agreed last week, before the Fleetwood game. So why the hell wasn't the change made with a couple of days left for Hopkin to add a player or two and give him a chance of starting to shape the team in his image?

More piss poor planning.

 

Those results make for pretty reading. If Jack Ross (Sunderland) can make the transition from St Mirren, there’s every hope Hopkin will do the same for us.

Let’s just hope, for the umpteenth time, that Rahic has learnt his lesson.
