    That’s all well a good if you’ve a decent midfield. We are making Doyle look very average with our tactics, and he’s more than proved in the past that’s not the case at this level

    I don’t disagree with your point btw just don’t think we have the quality in the middle to play 1 up top

    I guess I just long for crosses into the box

    Sure is. It's a repeat of last season for me but without Lady Luck on our side. We have a reasonable first XI (now let down by poor tactics, poor preparation and poor leadership) but without depth and quality in the squad in key areas to cope with the unexpected. A couple of injuries or lack of form or poor fitness demonstrate this all too well.

    Even if the preparation and the tactics and the leadership are improved dramatically, we'll still have the deficiencies with the squad. it's going to be a lonnng season!

    I don't think it'll be 433. It'll be 4312. The beauty of that is that is can easily switch to a midfielde diamond.

    So we can start the game with another system we've yet to try with this lot, and half time when we've been shit, we can switch to yet another.
