The real question is, what does Rupp want? I’ve rarely heard him mention what his ambitions are, other than to put right what’s going wrong. Haven’t even heard him sum up this season with disappointment.

 

As a Bradford fan who moved to Ipswich 20 years ago , this was a great weekend and hearing the constant songs of Leeds are falling apart again brought a big smile to my face. Ipswich have done well due to the massive backing of American owners. I think they will survive in the Premiership due to loads more cash being put in

 

That's what really gets my goat. What ambition does the owner of this club have. There's no statement of intent such as being here for the long haul, building for the future or anything like that. It's almost like he doesn't see beyond next season.

 

This thread, really makes me despair at the current state of football in this country, Billionaire owners throwing stupid money building up debts . Chasing a pipe dream.
Surely at some point soon, we are going to lose a club or two .
Only 20 teams can be in the premiership, only half a dozen with a chance of actually wining it,
Championship distorted by parachute payments, creating yo yo clubs, unless you are an Ipswich , where £80 million of debt wiped by an investor, they would have gone without it.
We need government led regulations around football finance, players salaries , ticket prices , everything.

 

Government led regulations sounds good in theory except for two major sticking points. Government regulation doesn’t seem to work in any of the privatised businesses, eg water, electricity etc, and secondly FIFA would ban England and all English teams if the government got too heavily involved in regulating football, there is already talk of Spain getting sanctioned for interference

 

FIFA are probably more corrupt than most football bodies, brown paper envelopes for awarding tournaments .
They need taking to task as well.
