Summer transfer priorities

Interesting GA mentioning some delays with opening discussions with targets as seasons are still on-going. Indicates we’re looking at players in the champ or in playoffs at some level

 

What about Taylor?

Exactly. He has been part of the 1st team plans - Taylor, Odusina, McDonald, Wilson and Oliver will be having those conversations first IMO. I wouldnt rule against Oduor but that depends on who becomes available and who we may sign.

 

It does become more complicated as the closed season progresses. We have to weigh up our options, if we can’t find better for approximately the same wages we might change our minds.

 

Wilson is still young and looked decent in the few times we have seen him I hope they keep him

 

He has but it's unfair to keep him just on the off chance he might make the bench a handful of times. Better for him to go out on loan and get a chance to play and then we can always recall in January if he does well.

 

I think he will go out on loan Park . Get someone else to pay his remuneration .

 

Good to hear GA has already met one potential signing and will meet a few more next week.

 

Well it may well be a loan. GA doesnt play wingers so looks like Wilson is disposable.

 

I wouldn't assume that.

If a decent player in League One/Two wants to wait to see what Championship clubs may or may not have to offer, that would be way smarter than instantly signing with a lower league club.

 

But we already have Walker, Pointon, Pattison and Oduor for that role. Clearly behind all of them so where does he get his opportunity to develop?

 

It crossed my mind wether it was our old friend Mr Watt. Cover for Smallwood as the deep protective midfielder?

 

I thought we might have seen him at LWB as he looked reasonably physical and apparently played that position numerous times in Wales.

Given we haven't would probably suggest that you're right and we're probably looking to move him on.

 

Haven't read this thread but I can't wait for the day when we see a cm wipe out an opposition midfielder deep in our half, come away with the ball, surge forward into their half and slide one of our attackers in on goal with a little ball through the CB and full back.

 

Wilson is primarily a winger, played anywhere else would see a limit on the use of his assets. Like Wright he is not a wing back.
