The Smallwood and Stubbs triggers are a bit disappointing.
Like others I thought Wadsworth might have been worth a 1 year deal.
Hopefully Bobby and Brad get actual new deals as I imagine Bobby in particular is not on much at all.
Doyle more as a coach and get an u21 higher loan keeper as backup or try Hadi?
Hopefully shift a bit of deadwood too

On a more serious note, as I said earlier with Walker, no doubt negotiating a lower weekly wage but maybe over a longer period.

I don't know what to think about the Bobby and Brad situations, I was hoping they would be on the same list as Walker and trying to tie them down to longer deals. I'll be disappointed if we kick off the season with Bobby only on a year deal, especially given Sparks' nonsense policy of not discussing contracts until the end of the season. Looks like those 'sources' that he had signed a 3 year deal were nonsense, as expected because it is one thing I think Sparks' is true to his word on sadly.

 

Maybe, according to google he has featured 26 times for us, so maybe the 25th game was the trigger? I'm not overly sure how it works. I thought Stubbs started brilliantly with us, but his last 10 games or so his form definitely dipped dramatically. He is still only 25 so could improve hopefully

It can only mean that as I can't see what other clause it could be but it must be a low appearance clause. In the league he's made 22 starts with 4 sub appearances and in the other cups it was 6 starts and 1 sub appearance making an overall 28 starts and 5 subs appearances.

 

walker 2 year deal, if rumours are to be believed he’s on £3k-£4k, drop that to £2.5k-£3.5k over two years, hopefully would work for him

 

Imagine most of the kids will end up NLN, older players NLP. Rides back to Halifax maybe, seems Chappy is going to Pools. Hendrie could maybe swing a bottom league 2 side

 

Smallwood has been one of my biggest frustrations since his arrival. But in a very weird sort of way, I think if we do go up next season with Richie as skipper, i'd probably be most happy for him more than anyone else in the squad. We all wanted him to be that missing midfield dynamo when he came, unfortunately he wasn't. But when i've watched clips of him off the ball, you can see how much it means to him I think

Come on Richie, give us all something to finally celebrate next season

 

As others have said, I hope the offer is a much lower weekly wage, but bolstered by appearance bonuses. That way if he has time out injured again, it doesn't shaft us on the financial side

 

Stubbs im frustrated with as he's just not mobile enough.
Smallwood isn't as bad as many make out so either way for me.
The ones like Ash Taylor and Vadaine Oliver still contracted ideally need moving on.
Between those 2 I reckon we could get a really good player in on 5k a week

 

Plenty I'd say.

For instance, even though POC or AOC weren't quick you wouldn't put them in a Canavan or Taylor bracket and even though Stubbs is probably as slow as Canavan over longer distances his first couple of yards (probably due to the speed of thought and anticipation) isn't horrendous.

 

Another point is that if the 3 been negotiated with sign on then it is 22 players in the squad, I'd like to see 25 with a couple of kids if needed. So that's not a lot of wiggle room, definitely need to shift some.

 

I think of the contracted players, i'd like to see Taylor, McDonald, Odusina, Smith and Oliver all moved on. I can also see one of either Richards or Wilson go too

Pity they didn't keep Wadsworth, he looked very promising and had a very successful loan out

 

I'd be happy with that. I like Wilson but it's clear he isn't getting game time under GA so let him go or at least send him out on loan so he can play. (Probably end up killing it somewhere else).

 

Who is that kid that apparently is a hot prospect. Scoring plenty of goals for the youth team. Will he be one of the scholars they talk about giving further updates in the future?
I thought Wadsworth and Rowe were well thought of. Rowe even stars in the JCT advert! As discussed earlier, I think we're too quick to right off some of the youngsters. But I suppose we don't see what GA and the new director do.
Next important step is to shift the dead wood. Thats not going to be easy.

Ibbitson is the striker you are talking about, he's in the u19s so will be part of the scholar announcements that we normally do later on in the summer.
I'm surprised with Wadsworth as he did well at Farsley and was trusted enough to make a couple of sub appearances after being recalled. Rowe struggled at Farsley and ended up playing further forward, realistically he's not going to get ahead of Halliday so he would only be a back up at best.
