Pointon, Cook, Kavanagh up front as usual, get Smith on for the final 15 if we still need a goal.

Drop Gilly for Walker.

 

Hopefully Mr Sharpe has a word in Cloughies ear and asks for a favour.

 

Or Mansfield win 4 - 0 and we beat Newport 4 - 0 easy, but let's not forget the bloody to Crypto boys.

 

Hats off to them all over the past few weeks. Talk about putting you through it though. For all Barrow’s attack in second half I can only recall one chance from open play. Well done Tyler Smith. Great finish at a great time. When was the last time City subbed two subs???? Although still a very outside chance, who isn’t buzzing after that match? C’mon City!!

 

Crawley have Grimsby

Surely they win that and steal 7th.

 

Plus everyone knows you have to finish on a high it helps the start of next season.

 

If Mansfield win at Barrow then goal difference wont come into it as a win would take us a point ahead. Basically we need to win and hope Barrow lose and Crawley fail to win.
Im not holding out much hope but there can be weird results on the final day

 

Its anyone's guess for all 3 games. I give us a 1 in 4 chance. Pure roll of the dice.

 

Doesn't matter how many Barrow lose by, if they lose, we win they lose and we finish a point above them. The killer is Crawley don't win, but Barrow draw, in which case we need an 8 nil win.

I see Barrow losing, Crawley drawing and us getting the last place.

If both Barrow & Crawley win then Crewe are in danger.

 

Our home record under Parkinson was just as pathetic as now. Apart from his last season when we “only” lost 4 we were beaten at least 6 times (9 times once) every season he was in charge (admittedly a lot of the time we were in L1)

 

Is last place really on though?

All teams including us are at home and against teams that have nothing to play for.

 

Mansfield will beat Barrow, I'm sure.

Crawley-Grimsby is the big concern. Grimsby aren't good, and Crawley beat them earlier in the season.

On the plus side, Crawley failed to beat either Barrow or Sutton, and lost to Colchester before that, so they're clearly not playing well.

 

I don't know what I enjoyed more, Smith's goal or his attempted celebration.

 

Just well done to GA and the team. There are things that are out of our control on Saturday so lets just acknowledge the valiant efforts since our wretched run, get behind the lads and what will be will be.
At least the season is ending on a high and with some hope for the challenges ahead - lets be honest none of us expected this just a month ago.

Of course it's on. Don't be ridiculous. It's more likely that we won't make it but it's at least a 25% chance. I suggest you look at the record of teams needing results on the last day against teams with nothing to play for before reading anything into that.

 

Any keeper will tell you when you’re going one way and committed and it takes a deflection back in the opposite direction it’s near on impossible to get back. He’s done well to even come close to saving it.

Barrow have to win, Mansfield will want to come second rather than third. Game on at Barrow

Crawley vs Grimsby is more worrying, but absolutely there’s a chance we make it. A small chance but still a chance
