1/3 of season tickets from last season not renewed is terrible , just hope they come back if we have a successful season or they will be lost they will be doing other things or just loose interest

    It wasn’t.

Much like this year, a select number of fans on social media significantly underestimated what we would sell. Predictions of less than 10k were being brandished about - much like this year.

When we eventually sold circa 12k, fans were pleasantly surprised by the uptake - as was the club.

    Short memory, fella.

It wouldn’t be 20% of lost revenue though would it because the prices have gone up this year compared to last year.
My maths ain’t great but I reckon that if we sell about 12000 this year compared to 15000 last year then the revenue will be about the same.

It would be compared to last seasons ticket sales I’m not on about price I’m on about actual people attending if this year hadn’t been so bad on and off the pitch there would have been 15 k renewing but say we only get 12 k that would be a loss of 20% of who attended this season it’s not about the price for the tickets it’s about attendance losses

Wonder if RS is about to blow the cobwebs off his necktie after this announcement. Wouldn’t be at all suprised to see him pop up with some sound bites. Can’t help himself.

It’s always an unfortunate case with City it seems, that when just as the sh1t is hitting the fan, something rose tinted shows up. Lose 6 on the trot and do a protest…we win two on the spin etc etc. Not being negative, it just seems that there’s always an excuse to forget about the real negatives going on at the top.

Some of that attrition will be people not renewing cheap kids seats they bought for the flexibility (empty seats) it provided. I haven't looked at last season's prices but the saving of not renewing the extra ST probably nets off the price rise too for their own.

…that’s all well and good, but you quite clearly referred to lost revenue.

There are three weeks left to be fair, only then will be be able to see a true picture

Regardless of the price though, I agree any drop beyond natural attrition is a bad reflection on the club

So losing 20% of sales from previous year wouldn’t be classed as lost revenue ok Ryan happy job hunting

@Bradford End@Bradford End I'm more than happy to admit I was one whom suggested a significant drop.

Happy to be proven totally wrong and would be delighted with c12k sales as this benefits the playing budget.

C'mon, the point Steve is making us that the club is seeing a significant reduction in its customer base. Potentially 20% if we do drop to 12,000 from 15,000.

That might mean the same revenue from season ticket sales, depending on the actual breakdown of who has purchased. Whatever, this is against a backdrop of inflation running at around 10% throughout 2023 and around 5% though 2024 so far. So, in real terms, the revenue is reduced. If the club had been managed effectively, I'm pretty certain we could have increased prices and retained our support at around 15k.

Whatever way to want to spin it, the support for the club, at least for now, is ebbing away. I'm sure that one of selling points for commercial revenue was the customer base, that's going to be that much harder over the next year.
