Leagues moved to the summer would never happen, the top teams would never vote for it as it would kill them in Europe starting the knock out rounds when it is their pre-season.

A lot of changed in the last few years with 3G pitches and we are seeing more and more non-league sides install them and I'd expect even more will be looking at it after this winter with so many at best having to play Saturday/Tuesday for the last month or 2 and others even worse like Truro City playing at Gloucester with this fixture list after playing 7:30pm on Saturday then last night. These clubs with 3G pitches have been able to cash in hiring out their pitch to other clubs for matches


I don't think it will be in the next couple of years that 3G pitches are allowed in the EFL but if we have another couple of winters like this then it will make the issue a lot more pressing.

Looking at Salford’s pitch on tele the other week it’s not in great shape and loads of rain since. I have a bad feeling that unless this rain relents we may be off Saturday. As far as Gigg Lane, it may not be up to EFL standard
