I spent all last weekend in the bloody garden , building the new greenhouse and planter boxes, damned if i do it all this long weekend, rather stand in the rain and protest, even if i am on my own.

Glad you spotted that as well Steve. Did he forget to tell him on his rare as rocking horse shit visit that the ship was sinking quicker than the titanic? Must have forgot in the wave of positivity that greeted Stefan's arrival.

Either way, I'm pleased for those people who have been sorting out protests and writing emails, signing petitions etc. It goes to show that effort can create action and is a thumb in the eye to all those "what you're doing will never make anything happen" nay-sayers. There is no way that "letter" would have come out if the pressure hadn't been started to be applied.

He might not have asked, but could have been told it is required.
If he disagreed then maybe Rupp would have said bye bye Ryan, your time is up.

Once we were in the position we are then Stefan couldn't win, if he kept quiet then he gets accused of not speaking to the fans but if he does this letter then he gets accused of waffle and convenient timing. The reality is I think whatever he said there will be some that it won't change their mind and there is only so much he can say so this wasn't aimed at them people, I doubt they think that by putting this out they stop the protest or make everyone happy again.

It will be interesting to see what kind of budget we end up with next season as it sounds like we are going down the route of the 12/13 season where we set the budget at a loss but hope to make it back through football fortune. Only time will tell if what he says about being more visible is true which should start with a fans forum which he attends in person once the season has ended as there's not really the time to arrange one before then.

"Part of my discussion with Ryan yesterday concerned the football department, and Ryan expressed a desire to add to that operation and assist our existing staff to achieve better outcomes. Ryan will be able to share more details on this matter before the season ends."
The obvious conclusion to draw from this is that we are looking to bring in a director of football type person , hopefully by saying before the end of the season this means we've got someone in mind and in discussions or about to open discussions with them so we can announce them before the end of the season. If not then for me next week they should be saying what the plans are as there's no reason to leave them beyond that.

Ahhhh, you are killing my optimism. I was thinking he meant the running of the football side, so someone between him and the manager. I can not say I am very in favour of a Director of Football as such but Sparks has shown he can not run it so willing to give anything a go if Rupp will not get rid of Sparks

They have duped the majority of the fan base long enough and it appears it would have gone on infinitum with them serving the poor product on the pitch. The penny has dropped with them now there are with vast gaps in the seating areas in VP - where fans should be sat and the poor ST take up to date..
They now want our trust to implement what has been lacking so it will boost the ST numbers Without evidence or seeing it I for one still need convincing.

I bet you said the same when Rupp sacked Edin and promised "a new chapter for this football club".

    How has that worked out?

    2018:

Rupp said: “[The manager] is the man to take us forward - in the long-term - and get the team moving in the right direction, away from the foot of the table.

“He faces a huge challenge, there is no doubt about that, but we all stand right behind him. [The manager] is currently scouring the market to strengthen the squad as injuries continue to trouble us.

“There have been more than a dozen players unavailable for several weeks and this will again be the case when the team faces Gillingham, tomorrow.

“If our position does not improve then [the manager] will be backed in January and there will be money to spend. He will get complete support in terms of the players he wishes to bring to the club.

“Likewise, [the Manager] has of course the power to make changes to his backroom team. But, again, decisions rest with him and he will be fully backed.

“Staying in League One is of paramount importance and we will do everything in our power to ensure this season ends on a positive note.

“We have made a very disappointing start to the season and we are hurting, as is everyone, our loyal supporters and partners.

“I look forward to attending some games next month and hope you will be there, getting behind the team as we take on the difficult challenges ahead of us.

“We now need to stick together as your support can really help us turn things around.”

    Also 2018:

“The time for change has come and this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club,” said Rupp.

“The people of Bradford deserve much, much better.

“I will do everything in my power to wash away the dreadful memories of the last 12 months and consign them to the history books for good.

“I have invested significantly in the club over the past two seasons and will continue to do so.”

His words mean absolutely f**k all.

Summoned to Munich you think? All very odd, considering Rupp was over here last week. The way I see it, is that Sparks caught wind of the protest happening tmrw, and hot footed it over to Rupp to pacify him and fill him in on how to "silence the unrest" (writing the letter over a couple of pints in the Saltaire Bar in Leeds/Bradford Airport before departure), whilst assuring him that he's the very best person for the job. Also reminding him of what was promised last time, and what it is the fans don't like. What WILL be interesting, is hearing Spark's version of the open letter, and the follow up about football goings on. I'm going to be very interested to see what sort of tone it's written in. No way he's going to take any responsibility. He's just gonna be blowing his own trumpet about what is about to be achieved.

Whoever wrote this and for whatever reason, the supporters need to maintain the pressure and keep pushing for change.
    Hold them to their words.
Attend the protest, peacefully and let them know we are not going away.
