People’s hand in life needs to be forced, we’d still all be living under Catholic rule like the Middle Ages if people didn’t take the hard stand. Sometimes things have to get a bit worse before they can get better, real change doesn’t come cheap.

A load of shite, so Ryan flew out to meet him yesterday...why didn't he discuss it with Rupp last week when he was in the UK?? Purely released on the basis of trying to stop the protest. I want to see Sparks relieved of his duties

    AS YOU WERE....

If there is any truth in the statements being made, why not delay the ST deadline until the start of the season? Yes not ideal from a cashflow perspective but if there were green shoots of improvement then there would be more renewals/uptake.

The trust has gone from the majority of the fanbase and most suspect these are hollow promises once again so let the protests continue.

Completely lacking in "how" things will be improved

    The whole epistle lacks substance

Another wasted opportunity to keep supporters informed

Its partly what the fans are asking for, more info from the club. The timing is a little suspect.
If we are getting someone in to help Sparks on the football side , that's a start, maybe they can not say anything yet as contracts need to be dealt with.
Lets hope he lives up to these words, its now there in print for everyone to refer back to.

I'm just wondering why Ryan needed to fly to Germany on Wednesday when Rupp was over here just last week?

Was Ryan of the opinion that everything was absolutely fine at that point and the meeting was in fact just a knee jerk response to the growing threat of protests?

I don't need an answer btw, I'm just giggling to myself at how thick RS thinks the supporter base is!

    Sounds good.

More help in the football side
More investment in the team, more competative budget with flex available if others keep spending
Looking at all options for the stadium

yep sounds good but will it happen? what will it look like. We are being asked to put trust in Sparks to implement a new plan when he couldn't implement previous one or make a long term appointment.

The perfect time to have removed the biggest problem in the club, Ryan Sparks, totally missed.

Overall a lot of words that say pretty much nothing. Reading Shakespeare would be more interesting.

My opinion, its a distraction tactic and until Sparks goes, the club will not progress. A waste of paper, ink, thought and air.

Even when I was part way through I was still hoping it was an announcement that Ryan had fallen on his sword

As always actions speak louder than words. Fair dos on the man coming out and issuing a statement, even one clearly drafted by our CEO, but as far as actions go he is continuing to allow our inept CEO continue in a role he has zero experience and zero ability in. Whether we get a DoF or not, we'll still be hamstrung by sparks continuing in this role

So much to digest in this statement. The timing of it being the most important, right before the first time we will have seen visible protests against both Sparks and Rupp. If they had made this statement months ago with genuine emotion behind it I would have more sympathy for the pair. Now it looks just like a face saving exercise, a desperate plea to stick a plaster over gaping wound which will be the season ticket sales next season. Also the lies from Sparks that both of them have been in constant dialogue when that's clearly not the case. Rupp admits himself he's been absent, leaving everything to man that now admits he needs help. Like the Captain of the titanic putting the mayday out. So many contradictions that it's very hard to believe the alleged sincerity behind the statement.
I think they call it crying wolf.

I thought the same. As a result I shall be in a bad mood for the rest the day.

Attending tomorrow depends on one thing slone, the weather, if its warm enough to do some work in the garden, have a walk and a pint, then I won't be at VP.

It wouldn't just be cashflow but we need to know the kind of budget we can afford next season and also when we have to fill out the salary cap information for the EFL ahead of the season. It would also inevitably see fans leave it until the last minute which won't be good for the club as a whole and there's a reason why nearly every club has their early bird deadline no later than a week or 2 after the end of the season, it rewards the fans who book early.

I think its utter horseshit, and a desperate attempt to avoid the planned protest tomorrow and rescue abysmal season ticket sales.

His words hold no sway, only action. I'll believe it when I see it and tomorrow's protest MUST proceed

I read the help from the football side, as bringing in a few more medical staff, as rumours are that all we have is a club doctor and a first aid box. RS being RS, would never in a month of Sundays, asked Rupp for help on the actual running of the football club. No chance.

So we asked him to speak out and he has. And I guess let’s see what next few weeks and months go. And if promises aren’t delivered then he dies by his sword.
Clarity on club is for sale is a positive that he is willing to listen to offers, and by sounds of it wagmi was the only real offer submitted.
Another positive for me is Sparks has realised he in other his head and requested meeting finally asked for help, let’s hope a director of football is incoming and if that the case no need for Gent. If Paul Jewell named I will be happy as he knows the club

It won't. We've heard this type of rhetoric many years ago and in between since. He's all talk and no action, and it's only ever when he's in danger of something tarnishing his name or risking his investment.

Same old sh*t Stefan. All talk, no action.
