Was Hughes in charge of the finances????
He would have had to get to the go ahead frpm either Gent or Sparks to sanction that signing.

May end up in the non league pyramid but i can guarantee the club would be run a lot better and we would actually see the club rise again unlike this slow death :(

I think Mansfield spent some time in the National League and look at them go now,

In fact at the very least half of the current L2 teams have come up through the NL.
    Ambition, the sheer bloody nerve!

They spent 5 years in the National League and this is their 11th season in League 2. They've also stuck with a manager for 3.5 seasons despite finishes of 16th, 7th and 8th. Do people really think we would stick with Alexander or any other manager with results like that?

Scunthorpe and York amongst others show that you can drop a long way. The former are doing better ATM, but long way back. Anyone who thinks boycotting the club will help it are living in fantasy world.

So many former league clubs are stuck in the abyss of non league. It’s extremely hard to come back once you’ve gone and I hope never see it in my lifetime.
I can’t go along with the fans who think boycotting the club is the miracle answer to the current issues.
If we go down to the NL we could be there a very very long time.

Those boycotting for the sake of it in reality will be few and far between. Those pi$$ed off with the club, recruitment, CEO and performances on the pitch will be in the thousands. You can stick your head in the sand but this club is on a downward spiral.

    One. More. Season.

Not sure this doomsday scenario will occur I think sales will be down 20/25 % covered partly by the increase in prices. There will be a reduction in budget but we have had squads that have been to big for the last two seasons. And if Alexander can get it right like most other clubs we will get a bigger and more lucrative pay on the day fans. Of course it’s not ideal but life will go on

Well boycotting on a mass scale will be a full on nose dive into non league not a gradual spiral.

Isn't 25% loss of sales in the thousands? I think it is. Just stating facts that thousands will not renew. So far Alexander has flattered to deceive. He has a lot to prove right now.

Out of curiosity if you and these many thousands of deserters got their way and forced Rupp out and we subsequently fell into non league, can I assume then the many thousands would renew their season tickets and come back even if we fell as far down as Scunthorpe?

People will not renew as the product on the pitch is shite. Square that off with Rupp first. If you dare.

The reality is that thousands would ‘move on’. If you lose the habit and the connections, then many would not return.
Look at the other Bradford (Park Avenue) ‘professional’ football club. For many years they had a larger support than City, even up until the 1960’s. They went out of the league in 1970 and were wound up in 1974. For some reason they were ‘reformed’ in 1987, but their support had by and large withered away. They have stalled and are sinking fast, currently in the relegation slots of the Northern Premier League, with an owner who says he struggles to fund them.

I get your logic but my view would be the Club would fold, another nail in the coffin of our City of Bradford if it happened. I know the season we appointed PP. The club then would have folded if we’d been relegated to NL

Then maybe we should put someone competent in charge to prevent that from happening. Being the youngest CEO in the football league isn't the kind of thing to boast about as a positive if the ability of that person is not what the job requires.

Rupp/Edin & now Sparks all took over from a position of strength and we have forever gone backwards since. The fact we are talking about non league is down to the way the club has been run. We were 5th in league one when they took over, no climbing out of the abyss of administration. Infact a club that was climbing out of the abyss of administration at the time (Bolton) are pushing for promotion to the Championship.

Roger, genuine question because given the comment above, its clear you understand the gravity

Do the powers that be within the club recognise the impact of a significant loss of fans (customers to them I guess)? Do they realise momentum plays a huge part in football and it’s difficult to salvage a sinking ship?

The reality of it all is that there’s a real risk we just keep dropping further and further and then Stefan might well end up with nothing, as opposed to whatever value he and any potential buyers might settle on.

The third option is he arrests the slide and takes serious action which will involve funding.

And here we have confirmation that actions from enough fans which would impact the clubs finances would ultimately kill it completely.
Would the protesters be happy then?

Nah you're right I'll go empty my account and hand it over to these clowns so we can continue treading water in the arse end of league 2.

The idea that rupp would let the club fold because revenue dropped a bit is alarmist bullshit and you know it. Not to mention the discussion you're quoting as evidence for this is based around relegation, not income from fans. The fans can spunk up as much cash as they'd like, it won't change a thing while rupp allows an amateur Facebook admin free reign to run his asset into the ground
