If people are telling the truth he hasn’t seen it yet. When he does I would be very surprised if he replied due to the tone of it

Questions like please can you sell asap and let someone who is actually interested in running the club? Yeah devastating questions. No wonder he is running to the hills to avoid them.

Has anyone considered the possibility that, in his own mind, Rupp has actually written his ownership of the club off as a bad loss? He'll let it rumble on as long as it can, to save face a bit, without him spending a penny more on it and he's told Sparks to make it sustainable. If the fans will pay to keep it going then fine. When and if that fails he'll just wind it up. He just doesn't care any more. He never says anything, never visits, doesn't engage at all, won't respond to any fan contact, won't even welcome a new manager and would rather it fail than sell at a loss. He can afford to lose his investment and it would be annoying but not much more. Sparks realises this now, hence his loss of ebullience and virtual silence, apart from letting the cat out of the bag in his radio interview.
With any theory it needs to be tested against the evidence. Does that stack up?

You do realise this group is looking to converse with Mr Rupp, not to be confrontational.

Fair points. The indifference towards the attempt to engage with him directly is really telling and worrying, as you allude to. He doesn't give a shiney shit about the club or the fans. I know a few are sticking their heads in the sand about this but it's a reality. We should be really worried. No promotion this year and then what?

Imagine a conversation that brings all parties to the table, to understand each others perspective.
IMO, this should be seen as an opportunity to make progress for all parties

Why would he wind it up and lose his investment rather than sell for a small loss? It doesn't make financial sense at all

It doesn't to me either. The only explanation I can think of is that it failing is less embarrassing to him than selling for a loss. If it fails he can say it wasn't his fault. If he sells at a loss it certainly is. The difference might not be all that much and it might be worth it to him. Who knows what goes on in the minds of multimillionaires?

Despite being thoroughly pissed off with it all and about the end of my tether with everything I've been looking at other possible reasons for the increase.

Could this be a sign of rupp trying to offload the club.

Is/were the cheap season tickets a millstone round the neck of the club, possibly deterring other potential buyers.

If any new buyer came in and put the prices up straight away, they would be seen instantly in a bad light.

This way a new owner can keep the status quo with regard pricing and then just needs to start winning back fans when settled in, and then have have a bigger income with back to near on 15,000 all paying £250

Whenever the inevitable price rise of our STs came along it was always going to cause unrest among a big chunk of our fan base due to us being spoilt with cheap prices in recent history, but I 100% get both sides of the argument here, the fans this season have been let down and enthusiasm is very low so a price rise looks bad timing obviuosly, but on the other hand rising costs gives the club no choice, and after probably already accepting the ST uptake for next season is going to be down then my guess is they've estimated it to be down by 25% so raised the price 25% to bridge that gap.

I think you are not far off.

It's a shame the Club is almost accepting that next season there will be less people interested in their product. Whether 25% don't renew is subjective but a worse case scenario IMHO.

Ok, you're right, don't want to disagree and appear confrontational and get reported to mods. My delicate nature couldn't cope.

The sad reality is probably that Rupp doesn't even know what the price of next season's ST's are. He's obviously past caring. Everything is in the hands of Sparks at this point.

I went to watch knocked loose in leeds last night, £25 sold out far more entertaining than watching Bradford city. I didn’t renew this season after 20+ years and I won’t be now, would much rather go to gigs throughout the year instead of been constantly let down by our current ownership regime!

....but, but, but....aren't you worried about what the nasty 'club cuckolds' will say about you? The ones who want 'their' seat used as a gravestone when they pass? With the Inscription 'Here lies xxxx best City fan ever'.
