We'll never know. I wouldn't suggest for one minute that Smith is in the same league as Cook, but Cookie had a couple of very good, clear cut chances on Saturday.........and buried feck all

 

Oduor simply has to play in that position again to see if he can be consistent, (shame about his shooting).

Now I’ve been one of his most negative posters on here but on that performance, wow. Has he taken on board what GA said in his ear, or, was it because of a world wide TV audience watching? Mmmmm. Too early to call.

 

He’s not at his best at the minute I accept that. But he’s taller than Smith so scores that cross (young would too) purely due to height!

 

Agree. Been excellent for three games now. Was unplayable vs MK Dons and last night kept squirming through!

 

He’s not in top form, nope. But still better than Smith.

 

I didn't notice the Sky cameras when we played MK Dons.

 

Come on, he’s only had 3 good games, before that - gash.

On last nights performance they'd better buck their ideas up after beating Posh 5 - 2 a couple of weeks ago then watching Posh demolish Blackpool that scoreline could easily be turned around at Wembley, smash and grab we didn't deserve that result but as football fans we know you have to stick the ball in the net to win games.

 

I don't get these lumping it to Cook comments, why can't we play like we did last night I very much doubt Alexander tells them to go long when Cook is playing then play as we did last night when he's missing, Cook will be back on Saturday without a doubt, similar formation hopefully Platt or Kelly will be available,if not it could be Taylor in and Stubbs in for Smallwood as I believe the Barrow game will be his final suspension with Cook in for Smith.

 

I have been totally underwhelmed by Oduor, but over the last few game he has been brilliant. Last night he was virtually unplayable, they didn’t know how to stop him.

 

It wasn't a pleasant experience watching us fluff some of those guilt edge chances but putting the ball in the net is not as easy as some make out.

Better to have played than not played at all?

 

Yes there has been a recent huge improvement in his performances. You implied that he had just turned it on for the Sky cameras alone, which is patently not so.

 

He was good in this comp before. Barnsley was it? He is just very hot and cold in the past. Hopefully gonna be more consistent now

 

To be fair I think last three performances have been good and a massive improvement.

 

Let’s just see then how many games he performs to this level, then we’ll have the answer. Maybe GA had found his best position?

 

With a bit of time to reflect, what a very good account of ourselves, especially when you consider some key players missing. Not taking chances is a bit of recurring issue for us but you can’t fault the endeavour of any of them last night. However, you can’t win if you can’t score.
The acid test of the management team and squad is now the reaction from this display and disappointment. I still think it’s an outside chance of the play offs, but we do have a history of great run ins to qualify. Far from impossible.
Bruised we may be today, but let’s hope they take some pride, desire and determination from last night. They certainly should do. We played a League 1 team off the park. On another day we would have cruised through. It wasn’t to be, but let’s not let a performance like that go to waste. Come on City!
