He got little help tbh and agree after we went 2-0 up he faded.. Their forward line was toothless. Is it a case of him and Payne can’t play in the same side. Very very similar players. If my memory isn’t playing tricks, Kemp played in the Payne role at Swindon?

 

The way Tomkinson is progressing,I am not sure Norwich would want to sell,but he is not ready for the championship,so we might be able to get him on a season long loan.He will be away at the Olympics during the summer.

 

I believe he's out of contract in the summer but as I said above, little chance of us signing him as he will have plenty of interest from League 1.

 

The only two I'd bin is Derbyshire - too old and we seem well stocked up front
Ridealgh - currently 32 and I think if he suffers any injuries at his age he could be another long term absentee.
If Pointon doesn't feature we at least need to get him on another contract and a decent loan. I think he could make us decent money in the long term.
I'd keep Chapman. His season has been blighted by injury but could be a good asset with a injury free pre-season in him.
Walker has been one of the few standout players (alongside Holliday) this season. If he's fit it's a no-brainer to play him. But the big question is do we retain him and risk having him crocked half the season?

 

The only one I’d disagree with Wolfy is Chapman . He’s had more chances to come through into the main 11 than most. He hasn’t taken those chances for me. So he needs to move on the basis he’s not going to progress .

 

I've been a fan of Chapman generally, but I now agree that it's time for him to move on this summer

 

TBF to him, he had to play a lot of games as a number 10 under Hughes, deputising for Walker and he never looked suited to that role. When he he started to get a run of games on the wing he looked really good but then, as is our luck these days, got a bad injury just as he was really coming into form and match fitness.

 

Can’t disagree , however a winger, we no longer need and that’s one problem that was related to last week. GA trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

 

To be fair to the lad Kev he doesn't look like he has fully recovered from his operation and layoff, something Alexander has touched on. He didn't look very good at Wrexham but by the time he came off he looked dead on his feet. While Walker was out last season he did a decent job covering for him. I'm not saying he should be first choice but not necessarily discarded. He can cover a couple of positions in the side.

 

He’s out of contract , I wouldn’t offer another 1975, on the off chance he might come good. Money better spent elsewhere.

 

If we played with wingers I would definitely keep him. That is where he has had all his best games. I don't think he has the athleticism and physical strength be be a wing back, so much as I like him probably best for all if he finds a new club

 

Summer signings will be interesting. We all have our wish lists of outgoings and incomings but I'm more interested in how GA sees things because that at the end of the day is the reality we will be dealing with. Up top we look fairly well stocked with contracted players in Cook, Young, Kavanagh and Smith and Wilson. it's midfield and at the back where the movements in and out might be. He may even disappoint a lot on here by just releasing out of contract players and not bringing anyone in, unless Richie Smallwood decided to move on.

 

Tomkinson was nothing short of awful against Sutton.

 

That’s his first poor game. Defensively he seemed to be fine, but the passing boots were left at home.
