I have to agree, fantastic result but energy sapping.
Alexander will need to freshen things up before fatigue sets in.
That second half two goal salvo killed MK off and they looked very laboured towards the end.
City adapted well to the conditions.
Walker did what he had to do between the sticks and kept another clean sheet,very solid performances out there tonight in tricky conditions.

 

The pitch wasn't a problem tonight the ref on the other hand was dire, two challenges one for each side that were yellows raised foot and he never product a card for either, but what a great advertisement for league two, credit to MK they very rarely went long ball trying to pass the ball, that's twice we've won games where the opposition have had 63% and 71% of the ball and taken 3 points from both games, another 3 points from our home game on Saturday against Sutton.

 

A certain Alan Clarke at Bellend Road made a good living letting Mick Jones do the donkey work for him to tap in, right place right time, it'd not luck, or should I say not in Alan Clarke case, johhny liner as he was called.

 

That excuse for a ref is a key reason NOT to introduce blue cards.

Guy struggled very badly just having two in his pocket.

 

Possession doesn't win you games we saw enough of that under Hughes.

 

Well that was enjoyable.

Strange game to analyse really.

Franchise have a lot of very good technical players, but apart from one of their free kicks, never looked like scoring.

Good to see our lads taking their chances for a change tonight.

You can stick your 70% possession Dons, give me the goals anytime.

Sweet night for GA getting one over them for sure.

I thought Platt started off very shaky tonight with a couple of mistimed clearances but after recovering from that, excellent goal, and very good overall display.

Special mention to Gilly who was very good in that wing back position, what a season he has had.

Ref a joke, 5 bookings was it, and not a bad foul all night.

Let's hope we don't do our usual and stutter against the bottom of the league after two great results against top 6 teams

He's not there to win tackles, give him the ball and drive at their defenders which he's done well so far, his best game without doubt tonight.

 

We have beaten two good teams in row. I thought MK was one of the best passing teams we will play and all our players were on top form to beat them.Well done lads.

 

He was very poor tonight, both those high challenges were yellows yet he gave yellows for so called time wasting we were 4 - 0 up you numpty.

Once again Kevin McDonald rolls back the years and proves he's still very much a professional of the the highest order.
Kids can learn a lot watching him and been around him on the training ground.

 

I wasn't feeling too well this morning but we decided to go tonight, more in hope than expectation. Very glad we did. Feel much improved now!
I found it hard to choose a man of the match. In the end I thought it should go to Tomkinson, with Platt and Gilliead very close behind.
It was quite surreal to enjoy the last 15 minutes of the game.
Ref was shocking.
Our neighbour in the stands had a new pair of glasses. His optician had told him he'd be able to see more City goals with them on. We told him he isn't allowed to take them off now. He says he is claiming full credit for the victory.

 

General point:

Dissent is an annoying distraction, a terrible example to younger players, should be duly sanctioned. The referee is the referee.

City players: please don't do that upward arm movement in dissent. If you do, you deserve a yellow card.

 

The defence were superb tonight you could have picked either one for MOM
