Agree with this and after speaking with Jamie the other night I get the feeling he will relish putting some really difficult questions to Sparks. I just got the feeling that he too was mighttily pi$$ed off with how things are going at VP.

Though I do understand those that think it will be a whitewash and nothing will be learned. Let's hope Jamie keeps his side of the bargain.

I think many would have preferred an open forum but I can partially understand the format as I am sure I read its just an hour programme so important there is some timing control to get through as many questions as possible - the key for me is this is a starting point and depending on the info we get will determine what happens next.

I expect it to be as the good old reggae song suggests 'there are more questions than answers' and for this session we are in the hands of Jamie Raynor to be true to his word in raising undiluted concerns of the fans

 

Hopefully this is a first small step in letting Sparks no the strength of feeling among the supporter base, although i think he already knows, hence this radio fanless forum.

 

I too hope that Jamie sticks to what he says and doesn't give Sparksey an easy time. In fairness the failings at City also affect Jamie's job, I'm sure being a commentator for a top-end league one/ champ side would greatly increase how enjoyable/lucrative his job is.

 

The amount of time given to this(1hour) seems to be a massive stumbling block.
Given the intros and pleasantries,that’s reduced to 55 minutes.
Raynor has said he’s already received 40 questions and that’s before he promotes it even more during today’s broadcast.
By Wednesday he could have received another 10.
Filter out the obvious inane stuff (steak bake or sausage roll) and you’ve still got many,many more questions that can possibly asked,and comprehensively answered in an hour.
Is it solely down to Raynor to decide what gets asked?
If he is the sole arbiter of what gets asked,how will he come to that decision?

As much as I dislike Sparks’ running of the club he has to be allowed time to answer any questions he allegedly hasn’t seen beforehand.

I know it’s a start but if it was a an actual fans “forum” (over 2 or 3 hours) using the strict dictionary definition of the word then there would be a right of reply to any answer that was given.

This clearly can’t happen in a radio studio ,so to me reduces this to just a box ticking exercise that will ultimately lead to the fans being even more frustrated.

Credit to Raynor and Radio Leeds though for doing something for the fans,giving them a voice, and showing the official supporters board up for what they actually are - a complete waste of time and effort.(pool tables FFS)

 

Jamie is going to have to control the answers to some extent or we will losing time to squash in as many questions as possible.

If I was him I would group all similar questions together Jamie will have to pick the best out. When asking the question he can highlight how man questions came in on this subject.

 

What makes you think he is hacked off too at VP?

 

It’s easy for Raynor now to say Sparks, GA etc won’t see the questions but in reality the clubs media team will and they will say what the club is and isn’t answering. That’s how press conferences work which this is really is. It’s not a fans forum as fans are not there. It’s not an open phone questioning without screening.

I’m sure Radio Leeds asked for fans to be there or a phoning question session but the club clearly said no and this is all they got.

 

The club will be able to anticipate the potentially more challenging questions. Ownership and Rupps intent, why Sparks hasn't brought in a DoF, managerial churn, poor recruitment.

They'll have some stock answers prepared, no doubt about it.

 

Because someone might ask a question that David Brent wont/ can't answer.

I think some City fans there who know what they talking about can question the answers better than Raynor(He won't want to burn bridges) I also think those fans would have shown the 3 attending passion of feeling amongst our fans, something a email question cannot do.

 

The fans turn out in numbers to sort the club home and away.

If anyone connected to the club should be doing more, it certainly isn't the fans.

I just sense a lot of hot air with the usual stock answers anyone on a payroll has to give, and don't see what's going to come from it , really it needs Rupp there this is the digital era and the time diff is only 1 hour to Germany, surely he can be dialled in.

That would be my Q. Why is Stephan Rupp Not involved in this fans forum.

 

I suggest listening first before judging Raynor has promised to put all questions without prior sight. I guess there will be plenty of duplicates. But if there is I whitewash in some peoples eyes then the time to criticise is after it is aired

 

Sent in my question -- no doubt I'm one of the many who have asked Sparks to reconcile our current position with his statement of several years, and managers, ago that he/the club do not accept mediocrity. Maybe the more questions on any given theme Raynor gets, the more likely it is that one of those questions will make the cut.

With passions running so high at the moment, without a strong moderator an open forum would likely descend in to a shouting match with the loudest voices winning.
At least this way the questions can be asked and hopefully answered in a reasonable way and followed up by Jamie if necessary. There’s a good chance that a trained journalist will give more constructive follow up questions than a half pissed fan.
I’m not defending Sparks, I think it’s a cop out personally and shouldn’t count as an open forum, but he might actually get some robust follow up from Raynor who I don’t think will be scared to give Ryan a hard time.
