Agree. But I think he's been quite defensive....talking about our XG and movement and intent and touches in opposition box and how we're so much better than everyone else.....he also says about how the first part of the season and our league position has impacted in that a draw is seen like a defeat but then later says a poor start reflects how it puts us under pressure....his talk of metrics just seems to reflect Ryan's interview with Parker....

It's why I said some good points, certainly not all. I'm with you that certain stats can't gloss over what we the fans see, and its not been an easy watch.

I think in GA case he has been guilty of some contradictions (maybe not even deliberate) whereas Sparks is just full of @#£%!

I never said he was fat. Im a Cook fan, but his performances this term havent been great.

He looks uninterested. Lets call a spade a spade.

To those who talk about how many chances Cook needs, his xG in the league is 8.5 goals and he's actually scored 11. Therefore he's massively outperforming based on how many he should have scored. That 15% shot conversion rate is shown up for being spurious as it proves he's not had that many "good" chances but has actually put away more than he should. I wish our whole scored performed so "poorly" as Cook.

He has scraps compared to last season for sure. Maybe a casualty of us player narrower? As last time we had Banks and Halliday or Ridehalgh and Chapman on the left, playing between or finding a runner to get balls in the box. Might be wrong, but we are seemingly crossing way deeper this year, with the midfielder not filling those gaps left by the wingers, and the wing backs next exactly bombing on, because that's not their game. Certainly far more scrappy this season.

I think if you look back I was against him leaving and commenting I believed Hughes should have given the kid a clean sheet after last season.
Unfortunately he didn't then didn't take him to Spain and played him with the kids at Horsfall against the Stans.
No body knows the details of the reason he got bombed out of the club but it was a little embarrassing all round when the lad showed what he could do given the chance.
If we keep him there are no guarantees he will continue scoring but looking at the present situation IMO he will not be given that chance unless the offers coming in do not meet the clubs valuation, as we are not privy to what the club value him at well never know if we get our valuation.

Yes but at least Chapmans was on target and made the keeper save it.

Probably the player GA had in mind when he said yesterday could be close to a new signing

    And Josh Morris.....christ.

The fact is that 2 years ago we were in the same situation - SHITE, and then we announced Hughes as manager to give everyone a lift.

Sparks/Rupp need to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat before the deadline ends to get the fans back onside (a bit). 2 very good signings for his level at a bare minimum. And keep Jake Young.

Then it is all up to GA.

If Alexander see Hunter as being able to fulfill a role in how he wants to play then I'd be happy with that. Scored a few times against us for Salford and Fleetwood

Unfortunately though he had a chance with a half season at Barrow and did nowt. I am sure if they had been given the chance he would been released deservedly. However he got a further chance and scored goals if he scores goals for the rest of the season his value will shoot up if not we will get next to nothing

Are you forgetting his 4 in 12 for us? That would be 16 over a season, from a wide position under a manager that didn't like him.

Forget Barrow. You keep going back to that to try and suit your narrative of he is only worth £200k. You are absolutely obsessed by his Barrow spell!!!

Cook was shite at Mansfield, Walker was shite at Wigan, Wright was absolutely shite in about 3 loans spells before us, Scott Banks was shite at Dunfermline. I can go on.

Ashley Hunter hell he was always up for it when we played Fleetwood and Salford.
Very creative player if I remember rightly and would fill the void left by Walker and Patterson possibly.

If you listen to Alexander the stats say we create plenty without converting them on that basis I wouldn’t say Hunter was the answer.
Haven’t said that I don’t really know his style of play. Given the style of football we are playing I think we need a target man someone who can play with their back to goal hold the ball up and allow the midfield to get forward. And let Cook play of him to do what he does best which is scoring goals

He's a player who brings others into the game.
Always played an itempo game against us that's why I've not forgotten him.His best seasons were at Fleetwood.
