Why should we do that we have him under contract for another year and another year in our favour. Let’s see if he does it for us before rewarding him

 

Why shouldn’t we, providing he shows willing, all clubs do it to a) add value to the player, b) protect the club from other clubs wanting to gouge the price , c) makes the player feel wanted.

Peterborough know how to do it. Wimbledon did it with Ali Al -Hamadi and now reap the rewards instead of him going on a free. It makes sound business sense.

 

We shouldn’t because he has done nothing for us except allegedly showing a bad attitude. When he does it for us is the time to reward him not before

 

Carlisle might be out the Young race, they are apparently in talks with Fleetwood over Jack Marriott. Fleetwood are clearing the squad of big earners as they are struggling a bit and seemingly accepting relegation.

 

Funny isn't it that people on here think we could get £500,000 plus for him (or should rather than could) but mention trying to keep the leagues leading scorer by giving him a new contract and the piss boils because he hasn't earned it here.

If he's worth £500k then he's worth keeping. If he is worth keeping renegotiate his terms. And take away the temptation.

If he isn't worth keeping then sell him to Carlisle, who will pay him more.

You can't say with one breathe we won't sell you for £200k and with the other you're only worth £1k a week.

I thought todays interview on Radio Leeds was a bit more positive from GA and made some good points.
But the interviewers drive me crazy - Alexander stated we now have a more workable and inclusive squad size where before it was way to many. We have moved on 4 and brought in 3 (simple maths) but Raynor just kept saying 'yeah, yeah' instead of raising one easy question 'Gary, is that really the case?'
We rely on Parker and Raynor to ask meaningful questions of the CEO and Manager as we rarely get an opportunity and we endlessly get embarrassingly beige input from them, I they want access but for gods sake show some journalistic integrity

Agree realistically the seasons over, I know mathematically its still possible but since that good run ended we've shown nothing to suggest we could put any sort of run together to gain the sort of points total you suggest.

 

And with our home form having more games at Valley Parade than on travels isn't a bonus.

 

Posted similar a while ago if he doesn't go show us what you can do son and if the club believe your a good investment going forward then they may be happy to talk about a new improved deal.

Unfortunately for some posters on here there is only abuse if a player isn't doing better than the previous season.

I'm far from a Cook basher in fact I backed him when many have given him stick for missing sitter only Andy Cook misses sitters I thought Wrights effort Tuesday night fell into that category be hey ho, I didn't think his performance Tuesday night was the old Andy Cook he's always going to get close attention sometimes from both central defenders but he's had a long enough career to know how to combate that and give them a dig now and again.

 

I agree. At the very least offer him an increased goal and assist bonus. That way it acts as an incentive if he needs one.

 

When Young went to Swindon there wasn’t many fans who disagreed with the decision many latching on to the rumour he was a bad egg. It’s typical fans he scores a few goals over a small amount of time and he becomes the best thing since sliced bread. Fickle isn’t it
