Great the club are putting a restrictive price on him , that money is probably unaffordable to most L1/2 clubs and he’s certainly NOT CC quality , especially with the injury. We may see him in a City shirt again .

It doesn't seem an unrealistic price to me. However its catch 22. If we dont sell him, you'd expect the first thing his agent will do is demand that if the club value him at 500k, he needs a new contract to reflect that value.

My guess is, he'll leave. Probably probably for nearer 300k than 500k.

I think for three months of good form and goal scoring it’s a long way over the top. If we stick it out he will still be here maybe that’s the plan

I imagine clubs want him for 200k-300k. Sparks wants 500k. I don't hate it, but Sparks will probably sell sooner rather than later.

 

Maybe clubs are trying to take him on loan for rest of year - Derby for example, if those bits about financial stuff are true.

I hope we get a cash fee upfront for a full transfer though and build in add ons.

 

Derby are losing a ton of money just by existing. I struggle to see how they will be released from the financial restraints in August if they can’t prove funding is available to run the club on a day to day basis ?

 

Yeah, agreed. They might want Young, but their circumstances prob count them out of the race as we can easily command an upfront fee from others. For the club its probably safer than loaning to Derby and seeing them reneging on a purchase agreement in August if they are in bother!

We need the cash now really as the ST sales will almost certainly slump in a few months

 

He goes nowhere on loan ! Why, he could get injured and be worthless , his “form” ( lol) falls off a cliff and is worthless in the summer.

Cash sale with add ons or he stays , why put all the risk on us , our asset , for a 4 month loan?

 

How many strikers in this league who have scored the same amount of goals as Young come January have had a 800,000 price tag put on them and have sold in the last few years ? Quite a few , so I don't blame Sparks for holding out for 500,000 instead of letting players go on the cheap as previous Chairmen / CEO's have done at this club. Charlie Wyke and Wells went for nothing really compared to what Peterborough would have got for them if they had been their players so its good to see a little backbone for once.
