Jordy Hiwula is (not)playing for dismal Derek at Ross County.

Correction: I see he has been released and is without a club.

I'm thinking it's Leigh or Reach to plug the LWB role. But below are some of the less glamours former players who are still about.... just in case the 'amazed' comment was a "I'd be amazed we are looking at them".

Maybe Carl McHugh? He's been playing over in India for the last few seasons. He's a holding midfielder these days from the looks of things.

Mason Bennett is at Burton, new manager might want a few people out. Bennett has just 10 starts in L1 this season, looks to have been starting all over the front line rather than just runs as an out and out forward.

Jordy Hiwula is a free agent after being realised by Ross County in September. Has a woeful scoring record the last 4 or 5 seasons. Matt Penney is also a free agent after being released by Ipswich last season after loan spells at Motherwell (signed a week or two after GA left Motherwell, maybe he scouted Penney?) and Charlton.

Callum Cooke? Another from that Boro youth crop who all know each other. Might be a lifeline out of non-league? Seemingly playing 10 for Hartlepool.

Just read Halliday is being linked with a move to Motherwell-could we be in for him too?

I'm sure Tom Cleverley said he would love to have finished his career here, but couldn't as he is unable to play any more. Could be wrong.

It's all conjecture, but the other part of the sentence was that he'd "be amazed if it happens" - which suggests someone that would be playing at a higher level I bet. A kind of Smallwood type of signing in that no one expected it.

Yeah, true. Neither were ‘exes’ IMO. If you don’t play for the senior team, doesn’t really count

    Walker in for Lewis
Young in for Oliver/Afoka (as things stand)
    Wright in
    East off the books completely
    Odusina kept out on loan

So far, so good to looking stronger in this window. Not convinced on the keeper swap but early days.

It's a good start, worrying that we just cant find a new home for Osadebe or Derbyshrie and they'll be here until the end. Alexanders main gripe throughout December when the transfer window topic was mentioned, was the numbers at training are too high. By that notion, we are at the exact same numbers at the minute as we were going in with Lewis, Oliver and Afoka out for Walker, Young and Wright.

I still think GA will want at least 4 or 5 out the door to trim the size down. Wondering if we just didn't put a cancellation clause in Tullochs deal? So he might be here until the end too. But the ones you'd think leave looking at it on paper are certainly Tulloch, Osadebe, Wilson & Derbyshire. With Wright in, maybe Chapman goes for minutes or Pointon on loan for some more experience?

We are after more quality players to enhance our squad. We do not need ex players who are ready to retire.

I wouldn’t say it’s worrying that we can’t find a new home for Odasebe or Derbyshire just not very surprising. Nobody’s going to sign a veteran striker who should not have been signed in the first place and who has made little impact. Maybe a non league side will take a punt on Odasebe but again unlikely.

    Totally agree with you.
Perhaps we might get an update today if Graham is willing to share the latest with the pre match presser today regarding in and outs.

He wasn't here, he's been at Rochdale all season. GAs main point about numbers was to trim down the day to day squad as there were too many bodies. Rather than budget driven.

Well if we can’t relocate players then we need a practical solution. Do we need more trainers? Separating out the players who will be playing at some point. Say 18 players. The rest will have to train separately even a separate venue. There is always a solution. It would be great to claim a chunk of the budget back, but if not we can’t have the manager trying to keep this very big squad as one, just not possible.[/QUOTE]
