January 2024 Transfer Window

Some now calling Lewis crap or average, there won’t be many of our players attracting league 1 interest and I’m going to stick my neck out and say Walker will be in the same boat. The whole point of football is to progress, that means strengthening in each position. But tbf if you don’t have any expectations then nothing to get worked up over, I admire that philosophy tbh.

 

This season I think it's fair to say Lewis has been average at best, this season he made more mistakes leading to goals before the clocks went back compared with the whole of last season. He may well regain his form from last season and only time will tell. If we were voting for player of the season so far I doubt many would have him high on their list.

 

This club is disjointed top to bottom

A decent keeper gone. Replaced with someone who hasn't had regular game time since Swansea City were a Premier League Club.

A backline thats a shambles. Kelly, Platt, Ridehalgh, Taylor. Not good enough. Tomkinson isn't our player. Halliday is out of contract at the end of the year. Stubbs is probably the best CB an he'l most likely be going this month. And Richards is half decent but always picks up injuries.

A Midfield that is one injury away from meltdown. Smallwood an Gilliead decent but nothing special. Walker always injured. Pattison never fully fit. Osadebe is dog shit. Mcdonald is past it.

A bunch of wingers who aren't good enough. Tulloch, Afoka (Ik one of them has been sent back but im making a point) Wilson, Odour. The two good ones, Chapman an Pointon, never get a game.

And a strike force which is about as reliable as a Peugeot 207. Cook whos either out of shape or in the form of his life but never gets decent service. Smith who's a good option to bring off the bench but not starter quality just yet. Oliver is pants. Derbyshire who is old as time an the second top scorer of the league being prepared to be sold to a team with ambition

I was trying to be sarcastic. It was a good win, but according to some so called supporters,everything at Bradford city is doomed.

 

Crap enough to get a league one club to pay a fee for. As you know, if he'd stayed there'd be no mention of him being crap.

 

I wouldn't say everything. But we are currently 14th in league two, which does somewhat dictate a feeling of discontent. Depends, we could turn the transfer window to.our favour?

 

He wouldn’t be player of season naturally, but he’s still above average for every mistake he’s saved us as well. Tbh I’ve often thought fans have a bit of a wonky sense on keepers but I suppose that comes with the position. He’s still kept a fair amount of clean sheets this season, and I bet more than his replacement makes. I have no problem replacing players with better, but replacing someone who has gone to be number 1 at a league 1 club with a guy who has played about the same punt as him in 6 years as he did in a season just about sums this club up atm for me. But each to their own if people aren’t bothered about this business.

 

Time will tell.
I personally think Alexander will get us on a much better footing, but we might just have to grin and bare it for now.
The squad he inherited is obese, with far too much fat and not much lean, i am not thinking about Andy cook with that statement.

Sam Walker in for Lewis. Was Charlton number 2 and Kilmarnock number 1 when they got relegated last year. Fairly middling in pedigree

 

Yeah it's not been a good season. Not a good 6 years to be fair. Its that bad it might well be a case of season wrote off and give Alexander the time to create the long term squad he needs. Hardly makes me full of the joys of spring but it's a hell of mess that GA has inherited.

 

So with that logic we should beat every team at this level then ????

He wasn't number one. Zach Hemming, on loan from Middlesbrough, was number one. In the 21/22 season Walker played one game and Hemming the rest. In the 22/23 season, Hemming returned on loan to be number one but then missed part of the season with a groin injury so Walker stepped in.

 

We once beat Chelsea 4-2 ya know.

 

Looking at the Derby extended highlights I would be more worried about Pointon going ....what a player...

 

Tbh id be happy for the lad if he got a move higher up. I can’t blame anyone who wants to leave this club atm and I want what’s best for the players who give their all.

 

Walker has relegation experience, just what is required
Can be best buddies with Ash Taylor
Motherwell not having a great season at the moment, can our current Gaffer tempt any players to join us here

 

With Pattison out for nearly three months a player in that position is a priority in the transfer window
