Rupp & Sparks Out?

As of yesterday, Harvey has been promoted to be a Director at Wrexham. Listed on companies house as part of the board now alongside the Hollywood Boys. Bit of a loophole in the EFLs way of business to actually allow him onto a board once again.

The EFL website states people are only prevented from joining the board of directors if “they have been a director of a football club which has suffered two insolvency events past June 2004 or separate football clubs which have each suffered an insolvency event past June 2004.” He has been a director at two clubs that have both has insolvency, but ours was 2 years before the cut off.

 

Guess who was the CEO of the EFL when the rule was implemented so that the start date was June 2004

For some context Crawley were a complete basket case before the season started. No manager, no real squad to speak of. Favourites to go down, they currently sit 5 points above us. Just let that sink in.

 

sometimes I wish we could have a total clear out but we seem to go from one manager inheriting previous manager shit to that manager signing players then leaving us for the next manager to have to deal with the same situation

If we had a sleeping owner who employed a dynamic CEO with lots of experience and football knowledge we'd be fine. Or if we had a dynamic owner we'd be fine because he'd get rid of Sparkes and employ the aforementioned CEO. But we have the worst of all worlds.

 

They're a good example of what can be achieved at this level by a good (lucky?) managerial appointment in a short period of time, even if things behind the scenes are a complete clusterf**k and the manager is the fifth in three weeks.

I predicted 14th to 18th this season. We are rotten from top to bottom. There will be no respite from this until we have new owners, leadership with football knowledge and investment. I feel for GA a little. With a chance to rejig the squad I reckon he'd do okay. Not gonna happen under Rupp and Sparks.

Feels like it's a very big transfer window for the club to try and save the season yet again. If young goes and we invest the money in players in this window then that's big positive. If we spend the square root of naff all or bring some more L2 misfits in then Rupp and Sparks deserve all they get.

Still baffles the length of some contracts handed out in the summer and before to the likes of Derbyshire.

This club is run like a cushy holiday camp from the top to the bottom.
