We do but it involves attacking wingbacks and an attacking midfielder. Two of those were missing today.

And there lies the problem we have, 2 players missing and a massive squad can't provide the necessary cover - reason i continually say Gent has been mediocre at best.
We are desperate to reduce our numbers but improve the quality (as we were told was going to happen last summer!)

 

We have ANOTHER bad window then Gent shouldnt be anywhere near this club come the recruitment during the summer ............we can all see what we need but i effing doubt that will be adressed this window ..........he will no doubt overload us in posistions that dont need filling.

 

Said this before myself. It's like we recruited at random. Like midfielders are all very different, rather than recruiting 2 ball winners, 2 runners etc. Same with the wingers who are all very different, strikers who are all very different. I know you need variety in a squad, but when 1 or 2 drop and the replacement is completely different, the tactic needs to alter too.

Gent and Hughes assembled such a huge bunch of misfits.

 

Left wing back , midfielder and a back up keeper for me just to push Lewis

 

The last part of your post is spot on, misfits is too kind a word. We are all mystified by the squad assembled over the summer. Why they chose to throw the baby out with the bath water, is beyond us mortals who believed only a few tweeks were requited to move that extra step.
How could the experts get it so wrong.

 

Does Ovie Ejaria have another club yet? Think could do a job here and still only 26 years old.

Oh ok nevermind then haha. Didn't know he had injury issues, thought it was just for financial reasons.

 

I didn't either, to be fair!

Wiki says he was on £650,000 a year at Reading, so I can see why they wanted to offload him if he wasn't playing.

 

We should be looking and putting all our money/wages on a dominant and class for league two midfielder.

He doesn't fit into the system.

Just like Odesebe and Odour, we have no role for these attacking midfielders.

Just don't mention on here that Wilson played left wing back for a season and a half.

That might confuse a few of the "he doesn't fit the system" brigade.

 

Seems our transfer strategy is quantity rather than quality. We should be making better use of the loan market to find good prospects rather than cheap squad fillers.

We should be leveraging relationships with the likes of Martin Drury and Connor Sellars.
