I was told by a sponsor that he was closey monitoring Josh Morris as a potential signing.

I think @Jordan@Jordan mentioned that he'd always taken him to clubs when appointed so maybe just a lazy rumour rather than an actual target.

Had him at Scunthorpe, Fleetwood, Salford & Motherwell. Also had him on trial at MK this summer but MK didn't need as many midfield options.

Morris is more of a left sided man in a CM of 3 these days, has covered LWB too under Alexander.

    I can't see that's a position we need really.

I'd rather give Richards a run of games. I think he'll improve with time. OK, he's young and learning now but I think a team can accommodate 1 or 2 younger lads throughout the season.

Me neither, not starting anyway. Probably a good option off the bench and probably has better legs than Ridehalgh if we need cover. Also, Morris is a set piece taker, which might be more appealing than some of our starters.

Morris is 5 months younger than Ridehalgh, so based solely on age, then he isn’t likely to have better legs. Surely we should look at younger players?
Apparently he only played 9 games last season and has been without a club since May. So l would guess he will be well out of condition and have had no recent match practice.
I would assume he would be looking for an 18 month contract.
    No thanks.

Yep, as said he isn't someone I fancy either. Only mention legs as Ridehalgh has had multiple muscle injuries in his legs every season of his career and his injury prone legs really look to have caught up this season.

Think Morris would only be here as midfield cover. Even a bloke who has barely played in the last 18 months has to be a better sub than Osadebe.

Seems like some moves are being made public in the press, either by agents or clubs. Involving L2 clubs, seems like Crewe may be losing arguably their best player this season so far in defender Connor O'Riordan. The 20 year old defender is reportedly a target for Blackburn with a £500K bid expected to be logged in the coming weeks.

Also, Wimbeldons highly touted young striker Ali Al-Hamadi looks to be Peterborough bound. Nixon and the guy who leaked the Barnsley bid for Lewis earlier in the summer have said Al-Hamadi looks like he will be a Posh player for a 7 figure fee. One rumour on F365 that Birmingham are looking at Elliot Lee and Thomas O'Connor from Wrexham this winter.

Cant find sod all on City so far, although likely our biggest deal in Jan will be recalling Young.

Except that Alexander likes to utilise Osedebe as a late sub up front, as at Gillingham, using his pace to harass tiring defenders. Can’t see Morris fitting that role somehow.

Me neither, I think if Young is back here and here to stay, Smith takes the chasing defenders role from Jan onwards. As said above, cant see the need for Morris but wouldn't be surprised to see Alexander bringing and old favourite in for 6 months.

But if Morris comes in, that takes our final O21 slot in the squad, so would need one out to register Morris and Young.

I think we still need to bring in a keeper to push Lewis.

Something L2 clubs don’t waste squad funding on, in reality. I understand your meaning though.

Carlisle just announced they have signed Luke Armstrong from Harrogate, training with them today prior to formal announcement on 1st Jan.

Fair play to the lad. I mean, every club looks for that prolific on-form striker, with his 1 goal and 1 assist so far this season. Assuming he downed tool after not getting his money move to Wrexham? Wouldn't be surprised if Wrexham try calling us up for Young in Jan.

and if they do, with the money they throw around, you'd surely play hard ball and ask for 7 figures, seen as posh are offering that for the Al-Hamadi at Wimbledon that's a similar age, contract length and scored less than Young, also the fact we'd be selling to a league 2 rival, which would disadvantage us.

100%. The Wrexham tax will be the lower league Man United tax of the 2000s. I cant imagine Carlisle have paid £500K for Armstrong like Wrexham were willing to do. Wrexham had also asked Wycombe about Brandon Hanlan towards deadline day and they wanted £300K for him. Hanlan is another target man with a poor goal return in his career to day but the money goes up when Hollywood call. Although Hanlan certainly wont be leaving in Jan, he has done his cruciate.

Not sure I rated him tbh. His pace helped up front I suppose ?
