Doyle was a totally different scenario. He was sent out by Gary Boreya and recalled by Gary Boreya. Considering he had six months left on his contract and we got a six figure fee from you, I think we did rather well out of that. Him walking at the end of the year from you, him only scoring three more goals for that fee, and the season being truncated, indicates we got a rather good deal out of that. In fact, I'd go so far as saying we totally stiffed you over those last four months.

 

Well, apart from us going up as Champions, I suppose so! Dreadful outcome for us!

 

Can’t see how. Unless you flog him to a Championship club who may loan him back to us. It’s all very reminiscent of when we had Tyrese Simpson on loan. Recalled by Ipswich, rotted until the summer, flogged to Huddersfield, failed to make any impact, loaned to Northampton and has done nothing with them. Hope Young doesn’t follow that path.

 

You would have done that without Doyle, but I guess the £33,333.33 you paid per goal for his last three goals did play a part in you achieving that.

 

There could be an opportunity for Swindon to become a feeder club for us. We send our young talent to develop in a smaller club, Swindon get players on loan, win/win.

I think Young is a lot more likely to do better here with GA in charge. This is probably true of East as well. Both looked towards goal whilst with us and from what I have seen so far GA sets up with a far more attack and forward thinking approach.

All hypothetical I know, and especially if the Club (Sparks and Rupp) have already decided to sell Young, but I am hoping that things are actually decided by GA and whether he thinks Young can be fitted in and improve us. And if not his sale monies, and revenue from other outgoings in the window, will be available for some other player(s) he thinks can.

The Doyle analogy for this situation is n't wholly accurate, but let's hope the Club manages this one well.

We do fine thanks, just as a taster - Dean Richards, Andy O'Brien, Andre Wisdom, Fabien Delph, Ollie McBurney, Nahki Wells, Tom Cleverley and a few more you will hear of soon, all started here and gave us a total in excess of £15million with add ons over the years. It's an interesting conundrum for GA. Tactically he will want to recall the leagues top scorer but at the same time does he need Young in the team?
Right now we're scoring goals and Oliver looks like he will start to get more games which means more competition up front.
Could he play up front with either Cook, Oliver or Smith? If he would only be effective alongside Cook then that leaves three competing for one place. And what happens if Cook is injured?
Would it better to sell and recruit someone who can compliment the existing strikers we have?

What is the obsession and day dream you have of a decent club buying him and then giving him back to you as a loan. Stop the fantasy, it becoming silly.
