On the Rupp communication, we were taken over in 2016, not 2017 as stated in that Twitter thread.

That 152 players does include some players who’ve been signed on multiple occasions: examples are
    Cook
    Gilliead
    Paudie
    Dion
    Walker

Been looking into EFL clubs who’ve changed owners since Rupp joined, there’s more than expected and a lot of success stories.
Obviously some failures including Reading, Wigan and Charlton.

152 in 7 years is over 20 new players a season. We're basically starting again every summer and rolling the dice.

I wouldn’t know John Dewhirst if I fell over him but he comes across really well and I feel the article is reasonable. After reading it this morning I was waiting for the vitriol to pop up on here. Not disappointed. Some of the interpretations are just bizarre. The idea that he is nothing but a club spokesperson is simply laughable. Just because he presents an alternative viewpoint he deserves to be thought of as some lesser person. Still, if you want to consider his post garbage, that’s fine but trying to suggest he’s saying it is always the fans fault is a bit of a stretch. Similarly, the assertion that the article insults fans intelligence because it plays into the negative, down beat, trodden on persona which some fans genuinely seek comfort in and don’t want to strive for better is risible. I’m sure you’re concerned and rightly so (I am too) but dismissing an article with an opposing viewpoint in such terms is a bit daft.
Put it this way, present your arguments in a more even way, you might even convert a few happy clappers.

For such a 'reasonable' article, surprisingly no mention of -
7 years ago we were 5th in League 1
    We're now 19th in League 2

Not particularly balanced and offered very few suggestions on improvements going forward.
Seemed to be saying 'lets carry on as we are'.
After 7 years, I think a lot of fans aren't having that message.

So you are the font of all knowledge regarding, confidential matters relating to the club? How do you know that offers have not been serious enough to match what WAGMI offered? More to the point how do you know what WAGMI were prepared to pay?

And “we’re lucky we still have a club” and “we’re debt free”.

It’s like a Happy Clapper bingo card.

Pretty sure he knows. Remember his 'for all the doubters' Instagram post after we beat Newport?

I respect that, can only go off your own info, but from my sources it's different

There is another article on WOAP praising Gent and saying he’s done a good job, amongst other things.

couldn’t quite believe what I was reading

You missed a right treat, the same game loyal tagged me about needing a DOF. They really showed us that game, it’s been all plain sailing since then.

Why would a club need a DoF if you can win a game now and again?

    Plan? Bah!

If there was someone desperate to buy the club,a really serious bidder, why don’t they rally support by going to the T&A and stating that they have made a more than generous bid to buy City but Rupp is being unreasonable in his demand? They could then state what their plans would be to really get the club going and with the current mood of the supporters they would get an avalanche of support which would more than likely create a regime change than throwing tennis balls. It’s happened before,in 2011 Steve Parkin -not the one who was our coach at the time- but the owner of Clipper Group, made a firm bid then an improved bid that was fully reported in the Yorkshire post. It was reported that he offered Rhodes and Lawn £750,000 for their shares, pay back Lawns loan and they would still have owned a 25 percent share in the club, who knows how that would have turned out had they accepted,it may have been a good thing. I’m not against regime change if it’s the right people but there are some dodgy owners out there and while Rupp is distant and not proactive he is certainly not a villain.
