How enjoyable and demoralising to sit in an empty stadium week after week? I have been with my club a few times and think absolutely great ground, but what is the actual point?

    How does the club survive?

On the playing side, I was well impressed when your lads gave ours a lesson the other week. You should do well playing like that consistently?

    Good luck going forward.

What puzzles me on Alexander is you read some forums who describe him as an attacking manager and others who say his football is as negative as Hughes which is right

Ahh... the old empty stadium comment. I knew it wouldn't be long before that one came up.

In terms of what it's like going to the matches, I don't really see it as a big issue. Obviously the atmosphere isn't exactly raucous but the idea that there can't be an atmosphere at Stadium:MK is a myth. When we're playing well, we can make a good noise. If you were there a couple of Tuesdays ago you'll have seen that. Equally, when we're not playing well it can be pretty depressing.

The club is pretty stable financially because the majority of the money isn't brought in from ticket sales. Pete Winkelman built and owns the whole retail park on which the stadium is located so generates plenty of money from that. In addition, there's a huge arena tagged on to the side of the stadium which hosts loads of darts, snooker, concerts, conferences and all sorts of other events that bring in money.

Every time somebody comes here for the same time they comment that the club has the setup of a Premier League club. In fairness, the stadium was built with that kind of ambition. Sadly, the football side of things has been nowhere near that level.

Sounds like both.. attacking football then once a goal up sits back and defends

    Remind you of anyone

“The old empty stadium comment” ….Its an observation after visiting a few times.

I read this recently hence my question. Losing £3.5m a year can’t be exactly stable ?

No, I've never heard him say he provides the funding for each identified player either and I've never said I have. What I have said I've heard him talk about is his involvement in contract negotiations and meetings with players and their agents, which he has been actively involved with since the January window 2021.

Tracked it a little whilst Bake Off is on, seems like a terrible game of football, think every shot on target has gone in so far. But seemingly Austins physical play is creating great freedom for Young in their strike partnership. Something like that could work a treat with Cook and take some of the leg work up top off him.

No brainer to recall him over having Tulloch & Afoka on the books.

The club consistently loses money and has done pretty much ever since the move. Like I said before, most of the money that is generated doesn't come from the football side of things at all. It's the stadium and all the stuff around it that generates the money to offset the club's losses and generate profit for the Inter MK group on top of that. That money won't have been accounted for in the £3.5M you quote there.

Don't go losing sleep over our finances. We're perfectly fine.

The FanBase article is making the same mistake you are by seeing the MKD financial position in isolation from the rest of Winkelman's group of companies. Read this for a better explanation ..

A lot of speculation on here about who the "we" is or was, yes I know it's a forum and that's what forums are about but maybe, just maybe we are making a lot about nothing. Maybe he meant "we" as a club (just Sparks) or possibly McDonald and Trueman had some input. They know the squad that the new manager would be taking on and it's capabilities, they also have an idea of the expectations of us fans regarding the style of football we would be happy with.
Although they are flexible Alexander and Lucketti don't favour a one up front system, it's usually 442 or 433.
An interesting point about their previous job at Milton Keynes was that they won four out of the first five games this season and then the hierarchy at the club insisted they change the tactics/style of play and they went on a seven game winless run which resulted in their sacking.
Now I am no Ryan Sparks cheerleader but I'm not aware that he has interfered to that extent here (yet).

For the record I would have chosen these two over the Cowleys or Joey Bartoni.

Oh dear hope it turns out not to be true as we appear to attract these type of managers (or Sparks is attracted to them).
We have had Bowyer, Adams, Hughes who have provided in the main dull as ditch water and only a few exciting games at VP.
