If we had an owner bothered about how the club speaks in public, they'd send Sparks on some media training. It's alwats either complete nonsense, digging holes for himself or standard soundbites that comes out in print and he never comes across well.

 

I have listened to the interview. Where does he talk himself up he gave full details of the interview process including approximately 9 hours talking to Alexander and talking to other clubs who have employed the applicant. There is no stick to beat Sparks on that interview

 

When speaking about squad size and January, he mentioned maybe some going out and maybe a striker in. He then said I’ll leave you to work that out. Surely confirmation that Young is coming back?

 

That’s down to the manager and what he wanted. I heard an interview with Hughes prew season where he said he didn’t want to bring someone in because Oliver would be back

I'm guessing and it is guessing that, that would be the case. I don't know if Roger can help but I'm guessing associate directors are just ambassadors these days and don't actually sit in in these decisions like they did back in the day.

Sparks other lieutenants Marco and Davide certainly aren't from a footballing background and shouldnt be anywhere near that sort of process either
