That wasn't my point, at all. I was questioning whether a prospective manager would challenge the job that the person responsible for recruitment had been doing.

Because from what I'm seeing, there's either a failure in the budget [meaning the club can't or won't pay enough to bring players in that could get the club out of this league].

Or the budget is there, but there's a problem with identifying and recruiting players with the requisite levels of skill and attitude that would ultimately lead to promotion. I can't see most of the current squad, Cook [on last season's form at least] excepted, nailing down places in the teams that are currently in the automatic promotion places.

 

I really hope that it’s Steve Evans but it won’t be.
