That's the nature of the self sufficient model. Manager's will want to know what budget they are guaranteed.
Sparks won't be able to guarantee them anything.

It seems that out of work managers do not seem to want to come here if other options are available.

Don't blame them really especially in this days L2. You have at least 5 or 6 teams that will spend in this league in January or promotion and spend well. Our model doesn't allow it.

Mad isn't it, some coaches would prefer to stay unemployed rather than come to us.

It's embarrassing. We should be the biggest gig in the league, managers should be clambering over each other to come here.

Really bad management persisting with an operating model that is getting us nowhere. Complete lack of ambition. Time for fans to vote with their feet. That is the best form of protest. Doesn't need banners, demonstrations or flypasts - hurting the pockets should be the biggest wake up call SR and RS need

Its really worrying. After Hughes went I genuinely thought the club was still a big draw and that, despite City fans having a laugh at ourselves, we’d still attract some decent applicants. However, it does seem like we’ve been knocked back with the weird Trueman-replacing-K-Mac move making little sense.

are managers thinking ‘if Hughes couldn’t succeed, nor will we’?

i still think something happened before the MK Dons game that effected the players. Losing Smallwood and Walker for one game shouldn’t have caused that annihilation and that first-half shocker against Sutton. Nice to see Kev end his spell with the cup win but, let’s be honest, it was vs a load of kids. Then he couldn’t wait to hand over reins to Truey.

i just hope Kev’s reluctance to put himself forward for the job was because a takeover beckons and he feared he’d be in the spotlight and soon sacked.

The reality is more likely managers don’t like our amateur set up and Sparks and Rupp are scaring away unemployed managers from the interviews :-(

The amount of managers we have had and sacked is well documented, i wouldn't go work for an organisation no matter how big if the job was high pressure with poor leadership and the potential to be sacked in 3 months.

However that is exactly what we need, a guy who backs himself to come in despite the above and kick us up the league.

There were posters on here posting what was going on at our club from the very first season Rack & Ruin took control, from the time Stuart McCall was asked to walk after our Wembley defat by both co-owners as we thought at the time not just Rahic.
You quite obviously didn't know the conditions every employee was working under at Valley Parade at the time or you would not have expected either James Mason or Ryan Sparks (who was in no position to challenge Rahic) everything went through Rahic and his wife Silkie.
Both the lads on The Cows Arse and on here were telling it as it was unfortunately Rupp blamed the fans and took every one of Rahic comments as the truth, until as we know Rupp in his wisdom allowed 2 Bradford City fans to meet him in Munich to discuss our plight at the time, if you believe the club is anywhere near that period your source of information is way off, we may not like what's going on at our club at the moment but there is no comparison with the Rahic days.

I agree its the only way. But it won’t happen….. Rupp has our ST money for another year so any protests until then won’t hit his pocket. But buoycotting STs is the only thing that would ever drive him out as it would shred his whole sustainability model.

The problem with that is simple. I've sat in the same seat for 23 years. If I don't renew I risk losing my seat and not being able to sit around the same people, who have become friends in that time. They have most of us by the short and curlies in that respect.

Depends on how strongly you actually feel about the situation? You aren't forced to buy a ST - it is completely optional. If you are happy for this s**t s**w to continue that is of course your perogative

Plus the fact that football is a completely different situation with regards most fans as you say it not just a matter of turning up on a Saturday afternoon, I've met up with fellow Bradford City fans who will be friends for many years although we don't always agree on things outside football, I've posted many times I could never see myself not attending games and following our football club, if that puts me in the happy clappers group or as some may claim the reason why we have not progressed over the years I can live with that, but we know what we have done in the past to try to help keep our club afloat and I take comfort from those days when my and many others odd pound here and there maybe help the club get over a difficult period.

We’re now towards the end of the week. Are we to assume final interviews will be concluded by tomorrow and an announcement early next week. Or am I being ridiculously optimistic?

All a boycott would do is cut the playing budget and and put the jobs of background staff in jeopardy

    Problem I see is.
We need someone sitting in an office who knows football
Who can understand what anew applicant manager is talking about
Talk football, something our ceo can’t do

The club have been silly handing out three year contracts to average players. But that is a weapon the fans can use against the club as wages are the main expense at any club…..

If fans boycott buying STs then Rupp is going to have to inject more funds to offset the lost income. Those players still need paying. He might do that in the form of another loan, but doing so makes us less attractive to new buyers and weakens his own hand.

if players were on one year deals he could just slash the budget in line with reduced ST income.

And encourage Rupp to accept the £8.5m he has been apparently offered.

You'd hope someone gets announced today or tomorrow, then they can visit training and have talks with the current staff to discuss their futures or maybe introduced new futures as a player-coach in McDonalds case and start talking to the squad, then they are at the ground for the Wycombe game and start taking training from Monday.

But given the process so far, I wouldn't be surprised at all if next week starts and we are still none the wiser.
