So after 4 weeks, we still haven't done the final interviews?..... wtf have we been doing?

Trueman is in charge for this Saturday so likely the new boss won't take charge until Monday at the earliest. Touching 5 weeks by the time someone starts, what a joke.

 

Just imagined we had lost to Swindon and Wimbledon ,would the manager search be still going on by now ?

 

But that is a big if. It was clear for some time that Hughes was on thin ice so there is no excuse for not having drawn up a list of possible replacements. The decision makers (don't laugh) have had four more weeks to assess the situation while McDonald has been in charge. But unusually there were very good candidates unemployed when Hughes was dismissed. There was and is no point in delaying a decision just for the sake of it. The Cowleys or whoever else could have been sounded out within days.

It's just a farce and I'm beginning to understand why so many of you despair of your football club.

 

We bought out Adams from Morecambe he appeared a very good choice but he was targeted straight away we waited for him and didn’t consider anybody else. And Hughes applied for the job and as far as I know we didn’t interview anybody else.
I have long advocated a selection process more similar to other employment with in-depth due diligence. It has taken longer than we all hoped but there are a lot of teams looking for managers at the moment and people will be keen to learn what’s on offer

 

Go have a look all over social media. Not one lone voice bar yours thinks this is anything other than amateur hour.

What were they doing before that? Even if Sparks ran out of ink to print the CVs, Amazon has next day delivery ffs...

Maybe they started off approaching clubs for permission to speak to managers already employed and were knocked back?

 

Or maybe the club interviewed the Cowleys within a couple of days of sacking Hughes and thought they were a bit rubbish so left it there. Maybe none of the applicants have impressed.

 

It won't be a joke if we get the right person in and he gets us promoted , some need to chill out
