Post match stuff would be interesting.
His personality makes Adams almost look friendly.

Can you imagine him calling Raynor or Parker an Ostrich?

Precisely what I and others have said for months and months and months. Likewise the critics of Sparks, are missing the point of his role as CeO . His job is to manage and assimilate the owners wishes, whilst maintaining a reasonably healthy football club. That’s one hell of a set of balls to juggle!
Let’s be frank, the owner must be delighted! Someone is protecting his asset without him having to spend pots of money .

We and I may not be happy with the owner with his clearly defined “lack of ambition” on the footballing side but to him it’s the most cost effective option . I’m sure of course he would like to see us progress, but clearly he doesn’t have our affinity to BCAFC as we supporters do.

Honestly I’m grateful we aren’t in the same boat as some clubs in a similar position or way higher in the footballing structure, saddled with huge pots of debt , with no hope of it disappearing anytime soon.

We are where we are, whilst not happy, I’ve seen far too many seasons where we lived hand to mouth on a daily basis, with not a pot to pizz in . Casting my mind back to the old Valley Parade of the 60’s right through to the disaster , fills me with absolute dread of how bad it really was.

Ever the realist, ever the optimist.

The reality is, we've had every type of manager who on paper should've been able to get us out of this league. Whether it's Boothroyd or Holden or Pep, nobody knows what style will work and who will get a tune out of this bunch. All we can do is hope the new guy gives us something to get behind.

I think I’ve mentioned Boothroyd during our last two manager changes. And was shot down both times. He’s not really done much. It’s the local connection.

Today, being Halloween, would be the perfect time to announce our new manager!

More likely to be Lee Kerslake, who was in Ozzy Osbourne's band

We need a manager that’s intelligent enough to work out what style will work to get us winning games and consistently too.

I never mentioned Bristol Rovers. I don't know where that has come from?
Nothing works 100% of the time. It's about giving yourself the best chance.
If we had a plan and a clearly defined style of play, we could have a shortlist of Manager's ready and waiting. Then after the Walsall game, we get that list out and we start making some phone calls to see who would be interested if the position became available.
It's the CEO's job to look 6-12 months into the future and get ahead of the game.

Had five years managing England youth teams at varying levels. More recently, has been managing in India. Not sure if same club as Derbyshire or not.

He’s tried his Junk Folder and he’s tried LinkedIn with Gent. I’ve heard that the hold up with getting the next manager appointed is that he’s forgotten his Facebook password.

It does make you wonder if the players got wind of the next manager and have downed tools at MK Dons and first half at Sutton (just as fan mood has soured at the names now linked).

Something doesn’t sit right with me - its like a light switch was flicked off. Its game day today but only a tinpot cup. Come on Sparks, give us an update.

apparently working for free for the England youth set up and u-21 manager from 2014-2021 (and India for the last two).

Understand people might have reservations about a manager but I would think being u-21 manager for England (and quite successfully so as well) would be considered a good role and certainly not poorly paid so don’t get the ‘cheap option’ jibes

If it is him of course

I had money on Boothroyd's Watford ante-post 2007-8. Their record after thirteen matches was an incredible ten wins, two draws and one defeat. They were eight points clear at the top of The Championship. They won one of their final fourteen matches and scraped into the play-offs. They were hammered in the play-off semi-final.
I believe Watford is the only team this century (and it might go back a lot further than that) to take 32 points from their first thirteen matches in the second tier and fail to be promoted. Three months into the next season he left the club. His three subsequent jobs in England ended in failure.

That's exactly why we need to change the owner and CEO.

Yeah sorry I was being a bit facetious - he hasn't worked in the league for 10 years as for 7 of them he was working in a very successful England set up - not that I'm saying he'd be my first choice but it's not like he's been unemployed for 10 years

Boothroyd was manager of Northampton when we turned them over at Wembley in the play off final.

Not for me, I’d prefer someone younger and hungry for success though I realise that’s about as general a statement as I could possibly make.
